Gaara understand this, it’s something he dealt with as a child as well when he had no one but himself to rely on. So…he tries to teach Shinki in a way that resonated with him. 

Meanwhile, Gaara is reminded of his own struggles, but he had no one to who believed him and comforted him…refuses to have that with Shinki.
