I GASPED ALOUD SEEING YOU ON MY DASH
It's so good to see you! Or e-see you— whatever! Lowkey just passing through. It's hard for me to get into fandom life these days, but I've been a fan of leverage since I was like 12 so since I just finished LR season 3 I had to come and see what the fanbase was looking like!
you picked a good time to stop by because it's thriving right now. i'm so glad you liked redemption... leverage still has it TO THIS DAY. a show of all time.
I LOVE the revival just about as much as the original show. I think it fits seemlessly into the canon. If I feel like watching Leverage I sometimes will put on Redemption before the OG series just because there's something a little more relaxed about it. The characters not only already like each other but they all love each other so you get to just see them play with those dynamics. Also Harry and Breanna are perfect additions to the show. I was already a fan of Noah Wyle from watching ER (big Dr. Carter crush) and Breanna is my faaaaavorite.
exactlyyyy like original leverage is so good but redemption genuinely fits with it so well. imo some of the best leverage episodes are redemption episodes (ignore the bottom of this post i got really mad online because someone said the first two seasons were bad. and i had to restrict my criteria to overall narrative quality and not just how much i liked them otherwise it would be a scared stiff job sweep). like they just fit so well with the original run. i especially appreciate how the series doesn't cheapen the ending of leverage at all, which is great to be able to say because obviously the long goodbye job is one of the best episodes of the series period. and bre and harry fit in so welllll and i love them so muchhh especially their relationship with each other. i was highly skeptical on harry from the promotional material released before the show aired but he's my funny little guy now (i was never skeptical on bre although i did hope she wasn't just going to be a Hardison Replacement™ and luckily for all of us she wasn't and is instead the team's annoying baby sister who they love so much).
also how do you feel about the noah wyle renaissance currently ruining my life
I'm glad that you weren't disappointed after being skeptical, also glad you gave it a chance anyway. I don't think I watched any promo for the new series except so I had no expectations, I was just happy to see my faves again. Again, wild that people weren't feeling seasons 1 and 2 because I would argue my favorite episodes are from those seasons. Something about them feels different like 'we're playing off of no expectations so lets just do whatever we want'. 3 didn't excite me as much as the first two, idk.
I'm happy for Noah Wyle. I had been anticipating the Pitt, also so wild to see how popular it got because I feel like I'm never watching a popular show at the same time everyone is talking about it but this time I was. Great show, one of my big obsessions are shows where people are running around yelling and cussing at each other doing stressful jobs I don't understand because it calms ME down so it's right up my alley(ie: VEEP!, Thick of It, ER seasons 1-5, The Bear season 1, Industry SOMETIMES)
I hope that all of the good press Noah's got with the Pitt rubs off on Leverage Redemption and keeps it going. The good thing is that Electric Entertainment is prepared to shop it to another network if it doesn't get picked up for season 4.
