Alzheimer rant

It's so deeply enraging that anywhere my sister turns for ressources on how to deal with our mom's Alzheimer the advice is always so uncompassionate about the sacrifices she has to make like. Specialized websites, associations and doctors will tell her bluntly with a straight face that she has to abandon her entire life and dedicate her every waking moment to our mom's care. Zero compassion, zero softening of the blow. Like it's just not that big of a deal to quit your job and become a nurse to your own parent full-time. It's normal and expected. And on TOP of that friends and family will feel the need to criticize the way she does sacrifice her life, when they themselves never offer practical help of any sort and kind of just float in and out of our lives whenever they want???

And beyond that I feel like Alzheimer/dementia have been known for a WHILE now so why the fuccckkk isn't there a specific system in place for those very specific illnesses???What are we doing??? Why is a spouse or a child expected to become nurse and social worker and secretary when we could have people specifically trained for that professionally?? Why are we acting like these are brand new illnesses that we don't know how to handle as a society???

#im so heartbroken for my sister and i live 600km away so i can barely help with anything #the way she's being treated by everyone that's not directly involved in our mom's daily care 😶i could genuinely kill someone for her #our UNCLE who stole 30 THOUSAND EUROS from an inheritance a part of the family was supposed to get. not earlier than THIS JANUARY.#has the incredibly nerve to open his big fucking mouth to say she shouldn't have moved in a small apartment #and should have instead stayed in her huge house thats way further from my sister's by herself . because it was nicer #like ohhhhh my god die?? hey about you die? about you shut the fuck up forever and fuck off and die in a ditch????
