pretty much my thoughts exactly, yeah! cleo’s perspective on the situation (“I never liked the guy,” etc.; lots of mentions of bad vibes or “intuition”) is, to an extent, understandable, especially considering how close they are with scott, but—as I’ve said—I’m a cold-hearted creature who’s spent too much time in academia to take anyone seriously if the only justification they have for not liking someone or something is “well the vibes are off.” the feng shui of this person is wack. whatever. as you said, unconscious perception can be really important, and even life-saving! but in this current situation a lot of the “I always knew something was off”/“I never liked avid” comes across as not only gloating about being smarter and/or morally superior to (former) fans but also just really fucking bad timing. now is not the time to talk about how you finally have a justified reason to hate someone, oh my god, that is just sooo insensitive and immature.

oh, he’s closer to the scott side of things, believe it or not, it just usually manifests as demanding attention from his chat instead of telling them to answer questions in a specific way or recite mantras or stop talking about something or whatever. one of my favourite moments during the wow stream* was when jimmy held hostage actually calling scott until his chat had said hi to him 😭 he gives his chat much more slack in the leash and lets them go off-topic, but when he does tell them what to do, they do listen.

see, I’ve said this before but the reason scott’s so into the suicide thing is partially because he’s a dramatic bitch but mostly because it’s a way for him to remain in control of himself even when he might otherwise lose control of his circumstances (by dying). if he kills himself before anyone else can kill him, then it’s still his decision, and no one’s bested him. when he’s less in control of external circumstances, he’s more likely to kill himself. under the suicide thing is the control thing, and under the control thing is the fear thing. he’s a very simple creature at the core.
