I believe one of his grandparents is indian (or at least of indian descent?), but as far as I’m aware, he is white and the rest of his family is white. I know part of the reason why some of his characters have darker skin than he does irl is because luanne designs the skins/concept art, so… yeah. regardless of owen’s intentions with making his characters brown-skinned, a lot of fans certainly seem to think the characters are intended to be non-white (I’ve seen quite a few people call v!owen a poc, which to me is kinda ? odd, but I guess his ethnicity was never specified in canon or anything lmao. same with sparrow in new life, and I suspect it’ll be similar with his pantheon character). idk!

maybe it’ll be like the (alleged? it’s only attested in a single line in a single source) myth of siproites, who (per antoninus liberalis) saw artemis bathing while out hunting and got turned into a woman... much to think about.

as I understand it, she primarily works on the concepts for the smps, while owen does more of the ‘practical’ stuff like coding. this means he’s more visible to the public, but she’s pretty equally at fault for the stupid decisions that go on behind the scenes. and there have been plenty of examples of her just outright lying about the content and timeline of pow smps, so she’s nowhere near blameless lol
