Being a trans man is wild because I'll see cis gay men talking about how they grew up thinking something was wrong with them because they never saw gay people, in media or real life, being treated as anything other than a joke. And queer people et al are like 'yeah that's so valid, this is why representation is so important'

Then a bunch of trans men say 'hey it's really hard to imagine ever having a future because I've never seen someone like me live happily to adulthood, especially not older adulthood'. And the exact same queer community goes 'yeah I dont really see how thats an issue?'

I don't think I'd be alive if not for the trans men I met at 14. I dont think I'd be alive if not for the transmen I saw online when I was 12. I am not joking in the slightest when I say Cavetown and Jammie doger were the reason I stayed alive long enough to meet trans men in real life. If I had never seen a future, a future where I am not a girl, I would not have made it though. Seeing tictoks of transmen on T, of non binary people getting top surgery, meeting older queer people of many different backgrounds is so important. It breaks my heart every time I think about how impossibly old 23 felt to 14 year old me. I still despite haveing been so incredibly privileged to meet so many transmascs have not meet in person or online any one older the 45. I still don't know what I will look like when I'm old, still can't truly imagine being 50, 60,70 or 80. I need every trans person to stay alive to keep fighter for our community's future. I dont want to be lonely in the retirement home
