Tumblr added a bunch of tracking shit to share urls, so now ill teach you how to get rid of them
if you copy a url by sharing on the website, the link will look like this
getting rid of tracking in these is easy, just delete everything after the question mark and you are golden
in the case for the app, its slightly more complicated
first you have to delete at. that appears before tumblr(.)com the other tracking shit on this one has a lot more info, so please, clean app urls. after the first set of numbers, there's a / you have to delete everything after it
a clean Tumblr url should look like this
blog safely
Removing this garbage makes posts embed on discord btw
what is it with able bodied people saying āget well soonā after you say that youāre chronically ill?? like? i am not gonna? and i once literally responded with āiām not gonna, itās chronic, as in permanent.ā and they went like āoh well, hope you get better!ā like bro š
Speaking for me personally (and also as someone who has their own chronic health issues), most of it is, as someone mentioned in the replies, script failure. Humans have a lot of scripts and shorthands for social interactions, and the most common one for finding out someone is ill or injured is to wish them a swift recovery. There isn't really a script for how to respond when someone won't recover tho, and so many people end up falling back on the script they do know even if it's not really applicable.
In my own personal experience, when I end up saying - or feeling the impulse to say - 'get well soon' to someone with a chronic condition, what I'm really trying to convey is something more along the lines of 'I hope your good days outnumber the bad ones', and 'I hope you find treatment that is effective for and accessible to you', and especially 'hey the fact that you are in pain sucks and I wish you weren't but I know that's not likely to change soon but also I hope that it will anyway because I hate to see people suffering and the 5-year-old inside me is insisting it's not fair even though the adult me knows that's not how it works but anyway the point is I hope you're in as little pain as it's possible for you to be in'. All of which is quite a bit harder to fit on a greeting card than 'get well soon', and which don't have any conveinent shorthands that will let me express those sentiments in a concise, understandable manner.
thank you so much for explaining this! i saw the āscript failureā reply but didnāt really understand what that meant & also didnāt have the time before to further ask.
but this actually makes sense and i think iāll try to just take it to mean things like that whenever someone wishes me well/a swift recovery now! again, thank you so much!!
This is such a good interaction from everyone involved and now the world is a little better because people understand each other better.
This is so good. All interactions should be this.
Good job everyone, let's hit the showers
Can we put in a new scripted line? Like perhaps- hope you stabilize soon!
can we all agree that pressing foreheads together is an underrated act of affection??
many women are excited to get old and weird, but i have great news that it's fully possible to become weird now, before you get old. just imagine the heights of weirdness you will be able to reach in fifty years if you get started now. that's what I think

many people ask 'how do i know my art is good enough to start a comic'. this is a very common mistake. you do not make a comic to make good art you make comics because its fun and looked yummy
saying this very gently. how will you improve
me when i improve the skill by (checks notes) not doing it so no one sees me doing it badly
kind of want to start a testimonials wall with just this printed out next to a cigarette stapled there
It's not romantic. It's not platonic. It's "I would walk through the ends of the world for you and you would do the same, so who cares what everyone else thinks as long as I have you by my side."

I've talked about this before, but if anyone out there is looking for body-positive workout material, Richard Simmons remains unparalleled.
It's all low-impact aerobics, meaning it's for fat people- people who aren't naturally athletic and aren't seeking to get super toned and super jacked but still want to move and be healthy.
that, and they're FUN. Like srsly his workouts are so FUN to do. There's a lot of his stuff in free low-res versions on Youtube and I can only hope that some day soon his estate releases his stuff for streaming at a higher res.

As someone who was alive when Bob Ross (and William Alexander before him ā thatās where the approach is from) was on PBS, I can 100% testify that you can paint along with him.
You may need to learn how to set up your paints and such⦠but this is what people did, live, while the show aired. Thatās what the show was for. I had family members create lovely works of art they enjoyed, which I still have on my walls, because William Alexander and Bob Ross both said:
SCREW METICULOUS CLASSICAL ART PRACTICES ā JUST GRAB A PALETTE KNIFE AND BIG OLD BRUSH AND PAINT!
They freed a whole generation of people who were taught to paint detail and realism and exact representation of reality ā people who largely gave up this kind of thing because it got tedious.
I watched the joy of family members as they rediscovered art as a messy fun spontaneous half hour activity.
Give it a try.
I was working on a history paper today and found a book from 1826 that seemed promising (though dull) for my topic, on an English Catholic familyās experience moving to France.
And it ended up not really being suitable for my purposes, as it goes. But part of the book is actually devoted to Kenelm, the authorās oldest sonā¦and man, his dad loved him.
Kenelm seems to have had a fairly typical upbringing for a young English gentleman, although he is a bit slow to read. At twelve heās sent to board at Stoneyhurst Collegeāoften the big step towards independence in a boyās life, as heāll most likely only see his parents sporadically from now on, and then leave for university.
When heās sixteen, however, his father moves the whole family to France, so Kenelm gets pulled out of school to be with them again. Shortly after the move, his dad notices that he seems depressed. Kenelm confides in him that heās been suffering from āscruplesā for the last eighteen monthsāmost likely what weād now call an anxiety disorder.
And his dad is pissedāat the school, because apparently Kenelm had been seeking help there and received none, despite obviously struggling with mental health issues. So his dad takes it seriously. He sets him up to be counseled by a priestāthere were no therapists back thenāand doesnāt send him away to be boarded again, instead teaching him at home himself.
And his mental health does improve. His dad describes him as well-liked, gentle, pious, kind and eager to please others; at twenty heās thinking about a career in diplomacy or going into the militaryāwhich his dad thinks he is not particularly suited for, considering his favorite pastimes are drawing and reading. Heās excited about his familyās upcoming move to Italy, and heās been busy learning Italian and teaching it to his siblings.
Henry Kenelm Beste dies of typhus at twenty years, four months, and twenty-five days. Thatās how his dad records it. Thatās why his dad is telling this story. Itās not an extraordinary storyāKenelmās story struck me because he sounds soā¦ordinary, like so many kids today. And he was so, so loved. His dad tried hard to help him compassionately with his mental health at a time where our current knowledge and support systems didnāt exist. You can feel how badly he wanted his son to be remembered and loved, to impress how dearly beloved he was to the people who knew him in life.
I hope heād be glad to know someone is still thinking of Kenelm over 200 years later.
Anyway, thatās why Iām crying today.
