the fact that not liking competition makes me feel so brutally maladjusted to this world REALLY says something about how awful everything is. i want to just BE……..i don’t need anything else……i need no recognition, no success, nothing. i just want to live without other people/my own voice that has been massively influenced by others to pressure me into thinking that simply being alive and loving isn’t enough 

I haven’t a shred of competitive spirit and I’ve thought about this a lot too… I saw another post recently saying sth like “the concept of finding a dream job that fits me is so unrelatable because the entire paid working world seems to be in direct opposition to my personality”. So much of it hinges upon selling yourself and boasting about your strengths and the way they differentiate you from others in your field / put you above them, finding out by which standards you ought to reshape yourself to go from useless / ‘skill-less’ to valuable to indispensable, and feeling galvanised by the thought of endless professional growth rather than discouraged from the start, seeking advancement and promotion and enjoying recognition and… yeah, that’s not me. And it’s so difficult to find a different path.

there’s something about living life deliberately…wearing clothes that you actually want to and that you feel reflect you and your style not just because you’ve had them for years and don’t know what else you would throw on….listening to songs and creating playlists that excite you and represent your actual mood not just listening to songs that you’ve had downloaded for years that don’t make you feel anything special anymore…it’s VERY easy to stay with what you’re comfortable and it might take a bit of experimenting before you find what feels like a deliberate choice that reflects more of YOU but it’s absolutely worth the leap of faith you may have to convince yourself to make in order to stop feeling like a passenger in your own life

I had a date tonight with a girl I’ve been seeing and we were talking about tattoos and I mentioned wanting one of a bumblebee behind my ear and she stared at me for a second and then pulled back her hair and showed me a tattoo of a bumblebee behind her ear and lemme tell you if I didn’t believe in soulmates before I sure as hell do now that’s some next level shit

This is one of the best things I think I’ve ever read and I can feel my lifespan increasing.
