The pharmaceutical industry is actually making bank off the antivax and anti-science movement. They are rolling out expensive measles medications they had no market for before. They are making thousands of dollars every time a kid gets sick with a serious vaccine preventable illness and ends up in and out of the pediatrician’s office, hospitalized and/or permanently disabled. I hate how these fucking influencers make bank for themselves and pharmaceutical companies by fearmongering about Big Pharma because you’re right, they do make more money when we’re sick and you’re making people incredibly sick by telling them not to get vaccinated and to ignore basic health and safety rules.

​you guys remember how the point of upton sinclair’s the jungle was that labor conditions in the meat packing industry, and the lives of the working poor at large were horrific and the only solution was socialism. and then the only takeaway people had was that the consequences of these inhuman conditions were that meat products were tainted. so instead of addressing the underlying labor rights issue the fda was founded and now we’re here.
