The deadset determination with which Shane starts to persue Ilya once he allows himself to actually feel his emotions is nothing short of poetic. Shane is an immovable object until he becomes the unstoppable force. All the time he held himself back by compartmentalisation and represssion, but once the switch is flicked, his love for Ilya drives him forward, steadily and so bravely.
