@autism-spectrum-deer and I were having a bit of fun and joking about Autistic animals, and we ended up coming up with enough ideas for a Tag Yourself post, so here it is!

Deer Autistic:

skips a lot instead of walking

tends to flee (leave the room) when overstimulated

introverted and timid

naive and guillable

prefers bland/plain food

loves to tactile stim

50% anxiety 50% passion

Cat Autistic:

stubborn

rigid routines

only a few food issues

likes walking barefoot

more of an ambivert

pressure stimming is their favourite way to stim

20% sass 30% executive dysfunction 50% adorableness

Mouse Autistic:

likely to go non-verbal and panicky when overloaded

always cold

appears physically weak

creative and good at thinking outside the box

really likes food in general

chews on everything

jerky little movements

likes the same foods over and over again but likes them a LOT

physically hides under things

doesn’t understand why people like the touch thing

stereotyped as cold by others

agitated by New Stuff in their physical environment (must hiss at the lipstick)

puts legs in weird positions for sleep

auditory stims yes please (echolalia, brawk n chitter, tapping)

head bobs, hops and body rocking

happy? lil flaps

touch takes some getting used to

will pick out the “good parts” in fried rice and casseroles, not matter how painstaking a task that is

Will bond with u 5 lyfe

unfortunately prone to self-destruction when stressed or grieving (and is Sensitive to that)

sort of similar to mouse autistic

goes non-verbal and freezes when overwhelmed

always cold

appears physically weak - but will drag something bigger than they are when necessary

creative and curious

climb on all the things

food!!!!

Hans looked the Devil in the eye, once he finished his piece, Said “That’s okay, old man, but just you get a load of this!”

The Devil bowed his head, because he knew he can’t compete. He dragged that heavy tuba down; it crashed by Hans’s feet. He turned away from Hans and as he retreated he said, “Forget this crap. I’m gonna try telemarketing instead.”

Fiddles are historically associated with the devil not through any Christian imagery, but because older European folk tradition held that several uber powerful water demons, known as nock, nikyr, necks, etc, were insanely good fiddle players.

In Norway, for example, the violin known as the Hardanger fiddle was played initially by the creepy otherwordly beings, like the hulderfolk, the trolls, as well as the nock. There are equivalents in other European cultures.

These beings were known as preternaturally skilled fiddle players, the nocks above all others. So some people would make a deal to learn the fiddle from the nock, or have their children trained. The only problem being nocks usually needed life or blood sacrifices to learn their skills.

So as Christianity was introduced, the water demon nock was conflated with the devil. Because other stories of nykyrs, nocks, etc were generally sacrificing a human to appease treacherous tides, which was the pinnacle of terror.

it takes time to cook all that shit. time most of us are spending at work earning that $20. add the time it takes to get to/from work and kids to the equation, and it’s time that most of America DOESNT FUCKING HAVE.

I wish people would stop trying to make others feel bad about their food choices when they have no idea what it’s like. few people have time to cook a full meal every night, help their children with homework, AND clean before going back to work (notice how I didn’t include sleep? that’s because many people have to sleep on the bus/train, or during breaks at work). if buying a bucket of chicken makes that a little easier, then guess what’s for dinner?

Chicken breasts are $3.49 per pound. That makes 2 pounds of chicken $6.98

10 lb bag of potatoes is $3.99 (admittedly these are almost always on sale here so it’s really $2.99 most of the time)

Corn is out of season but the frozen equivalent is $5.99

Peaches are $2.99 a lb

A gallon of skim milk is $4.99 

Ground chuck (which is the only lean option) is $4.49 a lb

The 32 oz yogurt (which is only available from Dannon, I think Yoplait dropped that size) is $3.99
