omg you people can do anything
“The patriarchy hurts men too!” Men hurt other men because they’re afraid of being perceived as feminine…aka, as women. Because they hate women. The victims of misogyny and the patriarchy have always been women, but somehow it’s still being debated as if it’s just a matter of opinion and not literal fact backed by statistics and stories that you see on the news.
The victims of racism have always been black and indigenous people of color.
The victims of transphobia have always been trans people.
The victims of homophobia have always been queer people.
Why’re the victims of misogyny constantly up for discussion?
i am not a psychiatrist but i do find it really weird how autism checklists are so often focused on "outward" signs of autism rather than what is going on internally. i don't know how to explain it but "do you make eye contact with other people" feels like a much less relevant question than "how does it feel when you have to make eye contact with other people?"
while i'm here, the other one that always pisses me off is "do you interpret idioms literally, for example 'bull in a china shop'?"
well, no, obviously. i know what "bull in a china shop" means because that is a popular phrase with a clearly defined meaning. and if i hadn't heard it before, then i would still not interpret it literally, because it has the cadence of an idiom and i would probably be able to work out from context what it meant. what is the point of this question
third and final complaint: "are you good at noticing subtext?"
i feel like the problem with this question is best illustrated by a conversation i had with a friend a while back, where i said something like, "i feel very safe with you because you don't do subtle hints and you are always very straight-up with me about what you are thinking and feeling."
and he laid a hand on my shoulder and was like, look dude i'm gonna be straight up here. i am subtle with you constantly and you simply do not notice <3

Don’t forget that the US civil rights bill only passed after six weeks of rioting that were the direct result of MLK’s murder. Peaceful protest paved the way, but violent protest got it over the finish line.
It’s understandable why the state would not want you know that, but that’s also why it’s imperative that you do.
king's family doesn't "believe" the FBI killed him, they know it for fact because the FBI admitted to it in a civil case brought against them in the early 90s. the court documents are a matter of public record. read them yourself. the king family won that suit against the united states fucking government for assassinating martin luther king jr
A fun thing about fiction with large casts of characters is that sometimes you'll have a Spicy Bananas moment where every single character has an identical yet wildly atypical experience of some very mundane thing, and slowly you realise that the author isn't Making A Point, they just think that's normal.
The main reason I’m pushing for people to stop using the term ‘pedophile’ and instead use the term ‘child sexual abusers’, is because since all discussions of child sexual abuse focus on this idea of an evil person who is just out to get kids because they are sexual attracted to them, it makes it hard for kids who where sexually assaulted by people who don’t fit that description to realize they were sexually assaulted.
It didn’t register for me until recently that my experiences of being forced to strip naked multiple times at the mental hospital to be ‘checked’ when I was 14 was sexual assault, because the people who did it were nurses/doctors who clearly didn’t find me sexually attractive but instead used it as a form of humiliation and control towards children they deemed as ‘unruly’ and ‘uncooperative’ (ie. children who asked to be treated like people). I thought only people who fit into this idea of a child attracted pedo could be child sexual abusers, so I thought my experience didn’t count.
Stepping away from the idea that there is a pedophile boggieman and instead highlighting that anyone can be a child sexual abuser will help more people realize that their experiences are sexual assault.
Weird when people get so absorbed in trans discourse they see posts made by cis people and then start blaming whatever trans group they have personal beef with. Like okay what a strange world you live in.
I’ve seen people assume a post made by a cis guy was made by a trans man just because they didn’t like the post. And it’s just like. Why are you assuming every post you disagree with is made by a trans person❓to the point you don’t even use the digital device you are using to post to quickly check if you’re even right.
let’s invent a cool new social media trend where usamericans google “history of US intervention in latin america”

Those of you following for a while will know I'm very passionate about transfeminism and prison abolition. I want to bring up an issue that is at the intersection of these: the horrific treatment of trans women in New Jersey, United States prisons.
Here are some headlines from the past few years:
In each of these articles, a trans woman named Gia Abigaill Valentina has been desperately trying to get people to help her.
Her words in the 2023 article: “There is no programming for the transgender women here. The only counseling provided is routine mental health services, in which someone from mental health comes around every two weeks. In this lock down unit I am made to stay in my cell for 23 hours a day. I am allowed out for kiosk and shower.”
Her words in the July 2024 article: “When you asked me what my typical day looked like, they [really] don’t differ from day to day when it comes to dealing with my mental anguish of not getting my vaginoplasty surgery (having this ‘thing’ still on my body) and being in this men’s prison. The moment I wake up I am faced with having this penis! It’s a brutal reminder of how I am being held captive in this body that is not mine. Then I have to face all the discrimination, transphobia, misgendering, all the weirdos, perverts, creeps. This is the worst I have ever had it and the highest level of trans discrimination I have ever faced... I am supposed to be next for surgery. I wish I was confident in the broken system, but I am not. We shall see how things unfold.”
Her words in the December 2024 article: "Emotionally, they have broken my spirit to feel because of no treatment at all and they keep me locked in a cell 23 and a half hours a day. My fear of being raped or sexually assaulted overrides any type of emotion I could possible have. Each day all I can do is survive the day locked in my room. I can honestly express with truth and sincerity that I have never in my life encountered or felt such discrimination, hatred, and transphobic opposition as I have experienced since coming out here in the NJDOC”
The TransFeminist Revolutionary Liberation Front (TFRLF) was started by Gia Abigaill Valentina, to free transfem prisoners.
This group of incarcerated transfems and those on the outside in solidarity have put together a toolkit to free Gia!
You can access it on cryptpad using the link: bit.ly/Clemency4Gia
This toolkit includes zines to print and social media graphics to share. They also include a list of specific contacts (phone numbers and email) and a script you can use for what to say.
Here is the central information I want to make sure you read so you understand the call to action:
NJ Governor Phil Murphy's term ends in January. He has granted clemency for 200 people during his term. He has the ability to grant clemency for Gia Valentina before the end of his term.
We can demand that Gia is freed immediately. But we have to do it fast. Time is of the essence.
If you live in the United States, and especially if you live in New Jersey, I strongly urge you to prioritize writing some emails and making some phone calls.
Get a group of friends together for it. Or schedule an hour of your day for it. Just find a way to get over the hurdle of starting. It's important.
Thank you <3
Everything changed the day Amira was born. The world outside was collapsing — bombs, dust, screams, and fear. Yet inside a small room, by the dim light of a single candle, a new life began. While others were running for shelter, I was holding my newborn daughter, trembling, crying, trying to believe that something so pure could still exist in a place like Gaza. I named her Amira, because I wanted her to feel like a child of life —not a child of war.
A year has passed since that night, but nothing has really changed Our house is still rubble, our streets still carry the smell of smoke, and the sky still echoes with sounds that make Amira flinch in her sleep. She has just turned one. She’s learning to walk, holding my finger with her tiny hand, laughing at the smallest things — as if she doesn’t see the destruction around her. She doesn’t know the word “loss.” She never met her father, but when she smiles, I see him there. Sometimes I watch her sleeping, and I wonder what kind of world she will grow up in — whether she will ever know what peace feels like, what home smells like. And yet, when she opens her eyes in the morning and says “mama,” everything becomes bearable again. I want to rebuild our home. Not just for the walls — but for her future. For Amira to have a small room, a safe place to dream, a life that belongs to her, not to war. I’m not asking for much. Only for a chance to give her a beginning filled with warmth instead of fear
My name is Saja. I am a mother, a wife, and just one of many women in Gaza trying to hold on — to hope, to my family, and to a life that no
A Mother’s Message
To everyone reading this — thank you for listening to our story. Your kindness means more than words. Every share, every message, every donation — it all helps me rebuild not just a house, but a future for Amira. From the heart of Gaza, from a mother learning to hope again — we will live. And I will make sure my daughter grows up in a world that knows love more than war.
If you're just learning about this, some of the other questions you might ask yourself next are: - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Aruba? - Why the fuck are there even 4 US military bases in Australia? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in the Bahamas? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Bahrain? - Why the fuck are there even 3 US military bases in Belgium? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Bulgaria? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Chagos archipelago apparently aka "British Indian Territory"? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Cuba? (this is of course Guantanamo bay, which is just straight up an illegal occupation of a foreign country to host a US torture prison) - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Djibouti? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Egypt? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Estonia? - Why the fuck are there even 3 US military bases in Greece? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Greenland? - Why the fuck are there even 6 US military bases in Germany? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in St. Helena? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Honduras? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Hungary? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Iceland? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Iraq? (when the Iraqi government keeps demanding that the US leave the country) - Why the fuck are there even 7 US military bases in Italy? - Why the fuck are there even 8 US military bases in Japan, if you exclude the several bases on Okinawa? It's 13 including the ones on Okinawa. - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Jordan? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Kenya? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Kosovo? - Why the fuck are there even 5 US military bases in Kuwait? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Latvia? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Lithuania? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in the Marshall Islands? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Norway? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Oman? - Why the fuck are there even 9 US military bases in the Philippines? - Why the fuck are there even 5 US military bases in Papua New Guinea? - Why the fuck are there even 5 US military bases in Poland? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Portugal? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Qatar? - Why the fuck are there even 3 US military bases in Romania? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Saudi Arabia? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in Singapore? - Why the fuck is there even a US military base in El Salvador? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Somalia? - Why the fuck are there even 8 US military bases in South Korea? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Spain? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Syria? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in Turkiye? - Why the fuck are there even 2 US military bases in the United Arab Emirates? - Why the fuck are there even 5 US military bases in the United Kingdom? Note: This list (that i got from this website cause their data was pretty recent and they had it in a handy list form) does not even seem to include things like the military airbase in the Netherlands where the americans keep nuclear bombers, or shannon airfield in ireland that the americans get to use freely for their genocide in Palestine, and used for their wars in afghanistan and iraq, so this list seems to be very far from complete.
The site i used above does seem to try to make the US military presence across the world seem a little more palatable and benign than it really is, and only counts major bases as a single base while many other sources would count them as several american military installations because theyre spread around a region.
They also seem to exclude smaller bases, and smaller concentrations of US troops. However, if there were like 50 US troops stationed next door from you you'd probably be tempted to say you live next to a US military base, so that doesnt seem right. So [this list by Al Jazeera], while a bit older, is probably a much more accurate count:
Well rhe Japanese bases are a remnant of the post-WWII US occupation of Japan, same as most in Asia AFAIK. The one in Cuba is being rented by the US from the cuban government and isnt illegally occupied (at least: thats what I was taught, feel free to correct me if i am mistaken)
I'm not being rude, but have you thought through what you just typed? You are typing this and going "correct me if im mistaken" but you dont seem to have actually applied any kind of critical thinking to the propaganda you've been taught, and are repeating. "Well the Japanese bases are a remnant of the post-WWII US occupation of Japan, same as most in Asia AFAIK." what does this mean? why would this make those bases acceptable? why do they need foreign military bases on their soil if that war has been over for 80 years? why does this history matter if Okinawans dont want you there now? As for Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, it is true that the USA pays rent. It pays this rent into an account that has never been touched by the Cuban government, because they explicitly DO NOT consent to the US-american military presence on their island. They want the USA out of Guantanamo Bay. It is most definitely an illegal occupation, that exists so the USA can warehouse and torture people close to the continental USA (and as a convenient naval base).
i think a lot of trans men seem to think that transandrophobia not being a thing would mean their experiences are invalid, there is no avenue to discuss their oppression, etc. etc. when in reality that word already exists: transphobia.
it's funny how often transandrophobia truthers just say "trans men aren't men" and expect to be taken seriously
Things gen Xers say:
1. "I'm Gen X and..." During an online conversation where being Gen X isn't relevant
2. "Fuck cancer." When someone dies of cancer. Especially if they can QRT the death announcement
3. "Some people just shouldn't reproduce." When they read a clickbait article about something that never happened

you can't keep telling (i.e. threatening) pre hrt trans women that hormones will make them be attracted to men. think for one singular second.
I promise you don't have to date, fuck or engage in any way with men to be a woman. Internalizing this will free you.
