Guysssss. Robby hanging up his stethoscope in baby Jane Does room being a direct parallel to season one with him on the roof with his stethoscope on the railing….omg…

In season 1, we see him standing on the ledge on the roof with his stethoscope hung up on the railing behind him, almost as a way of representing him giving in to his suicidal tendencies. To keep it short it was used as a way to represent death and simultaneously represent submission.

In season 2, after the whole monologue with Abbott, where Robby admits watching so many people die has been slowly killing him, we see Robby walk into the pedes room where baby Jane Doe is.

I also want to point out that this is the same room he watched yet another person, and not just any person but his own mentor, Dr Adamson, die.

He walks in and sets his stethoscope down on the rod above the crib she’s in, and then picks her up and starts talking to her to calm her down.

Whiles he’s talking to her he’s telling her she has so much life to live, so many people to love, and so many things to see, and also that she’s going to be ok. In this scene it’s almost like he’s repeating it to himself, accepting the fact that he will be ok but also the fact that he needs help.

In this case, the stethoscope on the railing was a way to represent submission, not to death but to staying alive, in a room that contains life, even though it was once a place full of death (Dr. Adamson and the Pitt fest shooting).

Don't care if he only asked because he's scared to be lonely. Don't care if he's a little bit on the suicidal side. Three months of traveling the country with no work?
