i really thought the point of "being lgbt+ doesn't absolve you of racism as a white person" was that white people arent absolved of racism by being marginalized but it really seems like people think other marginalizations make it okay. no being disabled doesn't do it. no being poor doesnt do it. we need to fight against racism actively no matter what.

Yes, the US has freedom of religion. That did not stop the federal government from outlawing indigenous religions and trying to eradicate them. They kidnapped children and made sure they only spoke English. The elders were unable to pass on their tradition and a lot has been lost. Oral histories and practices weren't written down, and when the elders died, that information was lost. People are trying to revive the languages and the old practices, but some of it, we'll never get back.

The US government did not provide any protections for indigenous religions until 1978.

Please, please listen to indigenous people about their history and stop insisting that "the US has always had the first amendment", as if that applied to everyone.

I do think the Hank Green AI thing makes it abundantly clear that if you have ADHD or any other mental illness and/or you are prone to addiction you need to avoid AI at all costs. This shit will rope you in, and if you have a mental illness that say, starves your brain of dopamine, you're gonna be extra susceptible to that. I won't use AI for a lot of reasons but one of the big ones is knowing how it would fuck with my ADHD and bipolar. Like yes, it's bad for the environment and giving money to rich scumbags and runs on plagarism, but even more than all that, it's straight up not safe at all and you really shouldn't use it if for no other reason than to protect yourself from whatever the fuck it might do to you.
