Thank you for the "actually spamton is kinda of an ass" posts.
It is really refreasing in the sea of "if you think he is a bad person you hate abuse victims and queer people".
I love his character, I love how tragic he is, I love that he is sympathetic even if he is objectively a bad person, I want him to get a happy ending cos I think no one deserves to suffer and I hate when people take that away from him cos they can't feel bad for him if he is not complety inocent, expecially when they drag other characters into the mud to try making him look better, characters that also are queer and victims of abuse but I guess it doesn't count in their case

spamton is a fascinating character in how like, insanely overwhelmingly prevalent his fanon is to the point of being widely accepted as canon by a huge amount of ppl . like even it took me watching a friend replay chapter 2 to realize that his bracket quirk isnt usually that intrusive, that he can seemingly stop talking in all caps at will, etc.
and i think making shit up about your blorbos is awesome is the thing, like i do it all the time, but i rarely see a character like spamton where the shit ppl make up - the acid theory, the transness, him having like chronic pain or other disabilities from puppetfication, puppetfication itself honestly - is so prevalent in how ppl view him that you're at genuine risk of like. being called transphobic ableist classist etc for... talking about his canon character traits and actions
(like i wont point any fingers but i Have been blocked by multiple ppl just for making posts or drawings where i insinuate that, maybe spamton is not a good person LMAO)
and yeah it really is like that!! like he doesn't have to be a perfect innocent angel to have sympathetic terrible circumstances and to deserve the chance to heal and grow! and if anything i think it's odd that so many people think he Has to be a complete victim in order to be sympathized with
most of all though it just. isn't interesting. it's boring if spamton is a perfect victim who never did anything wrong of his own volition. it's boring if he was only ever hurt and victimized by others with no wrongdoings of his own. like from a pure story perspective it just sucks and it's not interesting writing
like we get to a point where spamton can directly say in weird route that he sold you the evil torture ring and KNEW you would do evil torture stuff with it, and people will still yell at you for even implying he had any responsibility for weird route. when you literally can't finish it Without his assistance. we're on like insane levels of losing the plot to the point people are just actively ignoring the things even HE says just to make him seem more innocent and helpless
and yeah it sucks way more when ppl drag other characters just to justify how they mischaracterize spamton fdkfhdh... like the number of fics ive read treating acid theory as canon that make queen like, a complete evil prick who has to get yelled at by tenna or smth for Hurting His Spammy is insane
or god forbid how ppl treat tenna - i think it's really funny honestly how many people try to act like they've both done equal levels of bad, when tenna's worst crimes are being a shitty middle manager and pushing a contract for information he was Told he'd get while only vaguely knowing there would be "consequences" if he did (without actually knowing What those consequences were). which apparently is just as evil as selling a 15 year old an evil torture ring that basically roofies her and helps her kill her other 15 yr old friend in the process. like where am i
ANYWAYS YEAH LIKE. believe me as much as it feels like it by now it's really not controversial to say spamton is an asshole who's done really horrible things. it makes him more compelling!!! you're not insane and neither am i anon. takes your hands and spins with you
