The core of the relationship web in the whole series, the two main characters of the series, are not a romantic relationship, but a platonic one, and that's what I was trying to say in the post!! Phoenix and Maya are the two main characters; Edgeworth is a secondary character at best. And yet everyone in the fandom talks about Phoenix and Edgeworth to the point that before I played the game, I thought the series was about Phoenix and Edgeworth, I thought the story was about the two of them and Maya was the side character. I was astonished at how little screen time Edgeworth and his relationship to Phoenix got compared to Maya and her relationship to Phoenix, and it's because Phoenix and Edgeworth is talked about so much more despite being a secondary relationship to Phoenix and Maya's. But because Phoenix and Edgeworth are romantic they're automatically more interesting and more important, right?

Hilarious though how the post I was making was about amatonormativity and people immediately came in being amatonormative about Phoenix and Maya, because romance is the only thing that can be interesting and important, right?

Hate that when you say "love" everyone always automatically assumes romance is meant by that. Phoenix and Maya love each other so much, and the importance of that shouldn't be overlooked just because their love isn't romantic, yet more often than not in the fandom it is
