They were all talking about detransitioning and how that “proves” that gate-keeping is right. Then one guy who does write for a terfy magazine said that said magazine that “accidentally” also writes a lot about detransitioners (gotta wonder why they do that…) can’t “possibly” be right-leaning - ignoring it’s anti-trans and anti-islam policy. So, I pointed out that he, who is getting money from that magazine, maybe is not the most reliable person when it comes to the criticism against that magazine… And for that, I got a warning…

Me: Actually, the percentage of detransiitoners is no higher than 1%

Them: Those are old numbers, there has been a massive increase since 2010-2012

Me: Well, my numbers are from a study from 2018, with a cohort from 1972-2015… Do you have any sources for your claim?

Them: *provide two scientific articles that say that there is NO increase of detransitioners, three articles from some websites that don’t even show the methodology, and one article in Norwegian (which I don’t speak or understand)*

Me: *points out exactly those issues*

Them: Oh, of course you’d find ways to neglect and ignore the issue!

To be clear about this, yes, detransitioning is a thing - for 1% of those who do transition. And as much as that sucks for those people, I really don’t see how any more gate-keeping would help them. There already is a lot of gate-keeping in Germany, and detransitioning is still happening, because those people who do detransition later are simply lying to their counselors.

She didn’t run for election; she was appointed, without her knowledge, while she was living and working in a completely different part of the country. She just received a call one day telling her to come back to her childhood home, because she was in charge now.

So she did; and when she arrived, she discovered widespread sexual abuse of children. She browbeat 50 uncooperative local leaders into accepting her decision to annul all the marriages. She then fired four of them when they continued to allow children to be married off in their areas. She still faces widespread opposition from parents who consider it their right to sexually abuse their daughters if they want to; but Kachindamoto very evidently does not give a fuck, and is continuing to use political and legal means to protect children in the region.
