Ordinary is a Figment of your Imagination

You played the strings of my hearts like a harp. Perfect notes of admiration, soft rings of flirtation. I was reserved for I am a realist. And what are realists but people who question the things that could only be too good to be true. Yet you continued playing and I let you.

It wasn’t long till I was dragged and submerged in the waters of infatuation. But that sea is viscous and my efforts to stay afloat were in vain. So I drowned, and you let me. As your intoxication filled my lungs, I tried to reach out for you. Though, you no longer linger here. 

Your current has passed on to the next victim.

I touched you and learned to read braille

Between every crevice I found holy scriptures and demonic pledges

I lost myself between heaven and hell

And your flesh became the nuances of earth

Overcome by desire, undone by the fear of fire

You searched for the constellations that formed my soul

And found me on the freckles dissipated across your cheeks

We’re submerged in the vision of our false realities and the numerous promises of infinity

We lingered in embrace and remained in suspended space
