Dr. Janice Ford (not her birth name, but the name her first coterie knew her as)
(Image is of the actress known as Carol Ann Ford.)
Born in 1949. Her mother was an alcoholic and her father was a religious authoritarian… although eventually he was discovered to be a serial killer. While she was working to become a woman surgeon in the early 70s, she was blackmailed due her father’s identity. Her first reaction to being blackmailed was to kill her blackmailer, unfortunately they were a Tremere’s ghoul.
Embraced in 1972, she was determined to be a disappointment by her Sire and was not allowed to rise in rank or participate with the wider Camarilla society until after the fall of the Vienna Chantry. She joined the Praesidium in an attempt to prove her loyalty to the clan and survived the bombing of the 2nd Convention of Prague.
While in Prague she was recruited to investigate the location of the missing Prince with a coterie of other survivors, had multiple near death run-ins with the Second Inquisition, drank some mysteriously powerful blood, was voluntold to serve a Red Alastor, met Ecaterina the Wise and her Sabbat pack, nearly joined the Sabbat, was diablerized by a Toreador Antitribu and then fully overcame the mind of her would-be killer.
I have an incomplete epilogue for her that involves her starting a small cult on accident, seeking out her former lover and fury frenzying upon finding her, utilizing multiple personas via Viscissitude, and ultimately being captured by the Red Alastor she once swore to serve.
Ohh shes so intresting!!!
dr. Janice gets assigned:
The Queen of Cups
And
The 9 of pentacles
The queen of cups can have dual meanings as well when it comes to talking about a woman, especially a woman with power. The queen of cups especially when reversed can denote a wicked and manipulating woman, but more than that i do think the side of the card as being about a woman that is cunning, a planner and willing to do anything it takes to get what she desires especially if it fulfills her emotionally and socially.
Now the 9 of pentacles is a card about success, independence, discipline, hard work and freedom in principle, but it can also denote being trapped in a relationship where one is forced to do things for someone else's desired outcome and not one's own.
Another card i think might suit her
the high priestess
Nice, those really fit with the themes for her character that came out in how her character developed in the game I played her in.
The one thing she feared above all was being blood bound as she couldn’t be sure if she truly wanted something or if it was the bond changing her will. And being isolated among other Tremere for so long, she did not take the feelings of her coterie-mates into serious consideration and instead treated them as people to be categorized and repositioned accordingly. Her goal was initially to prove she was capable to the Praesidium, but in the end she abandoned that goal when she realized that she serving a clan and a sect that didn’t care for her. Then she kind of died… or she was reborn depending on your perspective.
This game is really cool!
