A Whole Family Of Pigs Going On An Adventure
(via)
The point of getting rid of the death penalty isn’t that there are some innocent people on it. The point of prison abolition isn’t that there are some innocent people in prison.
The point is that the state shouldn’t have the power to kill people. The point is that the prison system commits systemic abuses of human rights, doesn’t reduce crime, is deeply racist, and doesn’t take the desires of the victims into account. To argue about whether one individual on death row or with a life sentence is innocent or guilty is just a distraction from the central issues, which is that these institutions are unjust and should not exist
The shit just never ends huh
$10 says none of you even watched it. Ya'll are obsessed.
Ah yes. REAL racism. Not the kind of FAKE racism spread to mostly impressionable young white boys who parrot everything Felix says in a desperate attempt to be cool and popular with their peers and thus grow up thinking racism is humour. Not that racism.

And that’s why “it’s just a joke” don’t mean shit to me
Vegans really do be like “I just hate it when animals get hurt 🥺 now can you pass me the child slave farmed produce and the quinoa 🤤”
Non-Andean ppl stop talking about quinoa to #dunk on vegans challenge!
The income of rural quinoa farmers increased, encouraged more to join cooperatives, Bolivian consumption increased, any negative monoculture aspects are the same as all other monoculture crops (corn, soy, etc.), and it’s primarily non-vegans driving this trend.
It’s also very tiring for white people to keep using Latinized Indigenous migrant workers as tokens when they eat the exact same produce and only bring up our people when it’s a quirky “gotcha”. How about you all volunteer and donate to help our communities instead?
Here are some organizations to start:
La Unión del Pueblo Entero (LUPE)
Angry Tías & Abuelas
Humanitarian Respite Center of McAllen
Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights
Interfaith Welcome Coalition
RAICES
ARISE Adelante
Frontera Fund
Food Not Bombs
Carrizo-Comecrudo Tribe of Texas
shut up vegan
Me, Indigenous from a family of ex-plantation workers living in the militarized US borderlands: “Stop using us as tokens and actually help, here are sources on how to do that.”
You, a white settler: “lol shut up vegan”
.
Edit:
Anyways, this is a great example of how white people play armchair leftist and pretend to be supportive of BIPOC, but simultaneously uphold the status quo when it benefits them and ignore all BIPOC who hold them accountable.
Our ongoing and ever-present issues are just “takes” for them to debate comfortably at a café while they make anarchy zines with MacKynnley and Ashleighy.
This. This is it. They do not actually give a single fuck.

Just in case you needed another reason to wash your hands…
The vibrant emerald green cloth on these bindings gets its shocking color from copper acetoarsenite, more commonly known as arsenic. The inorganic pigment was also famously used in Victorian era wallpaper.
The bindings seen here, along with others in our collection, were tested by Melissa Tedone, Conservator at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, in December 2019 as part of the Poison Book Project. The sample is comprised largely of green cloth case bindings, but some green paper (upper left) also tested positive. They have since been properly rehoused, along with updated safe handling instructions. Read more about the Poison Book Project here.
Wishing you all a wonderful and nontoxic #greenpublishersbindingThursday!

Bye
Congratulations to Chloe on their hard work
people that act like Britain’s colonial past is ancient history, here are some facts:
Afghanistan’s independence was in 1919.
Egypt was in 1922.
Iraq was in 1932.
Jordan was in 1946.
India and Pakistan were in 1947.
Myanmar and Sri Lanka were in 1948.
Libya and Oman were in 1951.
Sudan was in 1956.
Ghana and Malaysia were in 1957.
Singapore was in 1959.
Cyprus and Nigeria were in 1960.
Cameroon, Kuwait, Tanzania, and Sierra Leone were in 1961.
Jamaica, Uganda, and Trinidad and Tobago were in 1962.
Kenya was in 1963.
Malawi, Malta, and Zambia were in 1964.
The Gambia and the Maldives were in 1965.
Barbados, Botswana, Lesotho, and Guyana were in 1966.
Yemen was in 1967.
Eswartini (Swaziland), Nauru, and Mauritius were in 1968.
Fiji and Tonga were in 1970.
Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates were in 1971.
The Bahamas was in 1973.
Grenada was in 1974
Seychelles was in 1976.
Dominica, Tuvalu, and the Solomon Islands were in 1978.
Kiribati and Saint Lucia were in 1979.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines were in 1979.
Vanuatu and Zimbabwe were in 1980.
Antigua and Barbuda and Belize were in 1981.
Saint Kitts was in 1983.
Brunei was in 1984.
In addition to that: Northern Ireland is still a British territory. So are the Falkland Islands and Bermuda.
This is in the lifetime of ancestors we have that are still alive. Many of these countries were left in financial ruination after colonization with their resources drained. Many of these countries have been repeatedly bombed by the UK and their allies since independence as well. The very act of independence often resulted in massive loss of life (see the partition of India and Pakistan which resulted in 2 million people dead, 20 million people displaced, and countless others never recovered). Calling it ancient history or underplaying the sheer cruelty of what the British empire did is such a slap in the face to the people who suffered for centuries.
Not to mention that the queen is technically still the queen of places like Canada and Australia, which are still occupying Indigenous land in 2021
