Someone commented this today. Honestly, I canât say I remembered exactly what Iwaoi one shot was in between all the ones Iâve written, published and unpublished both. So I went back and re-read my own fic because I didnât remember what it was about.
How did I manage to write something so good? This might sound a bit presumptuous, but holy shit how did I come up with such good stuff?! Me?!
I wrote it really good in my very honest and humble opinion, and Iâm surprised by myself because lately writing had been incredibly hard and seems like nothing comes how I want it to be. So it makes me happy knowing I can even write good things too. :D
Tooru looked at him as if saying âIâm right hereâ but he took the hand anyway, and Hajime lifted him up, fingers entwining while his other hand found place on Tooruâs hip.
Tooru looked at him a little dumbfounded, not understanding at first what Hajime was trying to do, but when he felt his bare feet being nudged left and Hajime spin lightly, he simply followed.
He didnât know the song, but it was calm, soft strings and quiet voices. Hajime shifted his hand quickly from his hip to the nape of his neck, gently guiding him to rest his head on his shoulder, and Tooru complied.
Heâd say a sarcastic comment at any other moment, a pun, something about how Hajime moved like a log of wood or whatever, but tonight it was different.
Hajimeâs neck smelled like the aftershave he had gifted him for his birthday and Tooru found himself nuzzling his nose against the soft skin, right hand warm in Hajimeâs soft grasp while the other rested peacefully on his chest.
He took a deep breath, the warm sensation of Hajimeâs body against his own already working wonders on him.
He closed his eyes, rocking slowly at the rhythm Hajime had chosen, and he felt himself relax at every new turn, every new circle the pad of Hajimeâs thumb made on the skin of his hip.
âYou know⌠this song seems like it was made for youâ the rumble of Hajimeâs voice sounded even better when he was pressed like that against him, when he murmured after a while.
â â Turn it all around, let that frown upside downââŚâ Hajime sang a bit off key, a smile in his voice that Tooru couldnât see but he felt it on his skin anyway.
âIâm not the grumpy one in our relationship, you knowâ Tooru whispered quietly back as if annoyed by Hajimeâs words, but hugged him tighter, hiding his face more in the comforting space in between Hajimeâs neck and shoulder.
âGood to know. I love you even when youâre grumpy or sad, but I like you more when youâre so annoyingly happy I canât help but smile with you too.â
Tooru didnât say anything this time, silence filling again their kitchen, while they slowly turned again. The music had changed but they were still moving at the same rhythm as before.
After a few moments, Hajime felt something warm and wet trickle on his skin, Tooru holding him in a vice-like grip, but he didnât say anything about it. If that was what he needed, it was okay. Hajimeâd be there for him.
If Tooru didnât want to share it, it was okay. Heâd be there to pull him up, regardless.
Hajime hugged him more, kissing lightly the top of his head.
âNo⌠Letâs⌠Letâs just stay like this a little bit more.â
