Something containing a trans character does not mean that thing is in support of trans people, there are dozens of movies that have trans characters just so they can make jokes about being trans.

Family guy did not choose to put a trans character in the show because it is pro LGBTQ they chose to put it in the show because they wanted to make jokes about it.

Additionally a multimillion dollar company donating to a charity does not mean they are in support of that thing.

Plenty of companies destroy the environmental charities only to turn around and donate to environmental funds so they can help their image.

He’s donated to save his image and clearly it has worked in a small way at least if you believe he would have donated to this charity in any world where his donations to republican politicians didn’t come to light.

However…

some acknowledgement has to be paid to the fact that, opposing minors on hrt while actively turning a blind eye to any other (less scientifically supported) medical procedure that a child may undergo is hypocritical.

Legislation on gender affirming care doesn’t just affect trans people, it affects everyone.

It affects the breast cancer survivor, who needed to have a mastectomy done.

It affects the 13 year old, with Gynecomastia now uncomfortable in their body and being bullied at school.

It affects anyone who wants less hair on their face or body, or who wants to regrow hair on their head.

It’s ironic looking at the people passing legislation against gender affirming care knowing that, at their age, they are the most likely people to be experiencing gender affirming care.

Every project used to be magical, Akanator or the Wayback Machine which used make me so curious to look under the hood and see what made them tick.

For awhile AI was cool like that for me not the large language models but the actual interesting projects that utilized neural nets like Infinite Craft.

But nothing is more discouraging to me about the subject I love than going hack-a-thons and seeing someone’s project is to make a weather app by making a text box that calls Chat GPT to pull up weather data, it’s such an unbelievable waste of resources.
