I wanted to make a pinned post with an intro before you proceed to the rest of my blog so, here we are! The contents of this blog are related to the Fallout game series based around my own takes and interpretations (and bastardizations) of canon lore. The way I choose to interpret canon characters is, more often than not, different from how they are portrayed in-canon.

An updated reference sheet for my dearly beloved FNV Courier and his dog! His design really hasn't changed much since his original inception, it's mostly been adding new things. Romain is simply a benevolent wasteland merc earning caps to keep himself alive and lending a hand where he can. You won't catch him siding with any factions, though he's no stranger around New Vegas, NCR territories or New Canaan.

Do you take requests sometimes? Or are you perhaps open to an art trade for a fic? I cannot draw people, only jewelry and weapons, and even then they be sketches at best. Can't draw digitally for shit either. I can absolutely write fics tho. Hope I don't seem desperate or annoying by asking this. Don't like being a bother to folks.

my blog got a spike of activity about a month ago that i only just now logged on to see so apologies for the late reply! i'm open to requests for canon characters of fandoms i'm in (fallout, far cry, ghost, etc) but art of OCs is always commission-exclusive 💛 it's been a long time since i've really drawn much so i can't make any guarantees but if canon character requests get dropped in my inbox that spark some inspiration, it may just get me back into it

One thing I found interesting was tracking The Ghoul/Cooper Howard's relationship with dogs over the season, since The Ghoul is presented as true neutral out for himself at the beginning it serves as an audience cue.

One of the establishing character moments with his post bomb cold cowboy killer persona was a "kick knife the dog" moment. He heals Dogmeat to use him as a tracker but then abandons him when he isn't useful.

Then in flashbacks you learn he had a dog, he loved that dog, he hates the idea of leaving Roosevelt to die because dogs won't be allowed in vaults. I would be curious at the amount of screen-time he has with his wife Barb vs his dog because I think it would be almost equal.

After Lucy helps him out, he rescues Dogmeat and gets a "pet the dog" moment, though his comment of "I'm sorry Dogmeat but you ain't him" shows he's still mourning Roosevelt 200 years later.

I just find it interesting how the most memorable art in his house and where the camera lingers for a bit is:

after like,,, a WEEK?? i finished this, i finally finished this. there’s borderline 0 consistency happening between the lineart and coloring styles but at this point, i do not care. i hope someone gets some joy from this monument to my suffering

The anatomy on this is way too of to fix so i slapped some shading/lighting on there and called it a day 💀
