her whole thing is that she’s basically an alien from another planet who was sent by the company that she works for on another planet to see if it’s habitable enough, incase their planet explodes or something.

When her and her co-workers entered this planet, they stumbled for a while till they found an entire civilization, and in order to blend in with said civilization while studying it, they disguised themselves as earthlings and got actual jobs from there. Since she was basically a highly advanced janitor on her planet, she became a janitor on Earth.
