Maximortal itself is veryyyy dense and complex in terms of narrative, so it's a bit harder to parse while reading, I find. I do find myself yearning for a bit more of a grounded, intimate narrative like Bratpack where we really, really got to follow the sidekicks and get to know them before getting into the action. With Boy Maximortal it's a lot of "who is this, again, and why do I care?" because it's following several sets of characters at once, all with interlocking stories and varying levels of relevance.

ahh well see. bratpack's ending is where the beginning of the maximortal saga picks up, with true-man returning to have that whole metatextual battle of ideology with blasphemy. because maximortal is an ongoing series, I guess we'll just have to see where it goes, and it if ever circles back to the BP??
