what’s up with this obsession that dickbabs writers and shipper have with them being childhood friends to lovers? why can’t they be two people that hang out like three times when they were younger and then we they grew up fund each other and fell in love? your taking away the reason why they got together in the first place they both changed so much then found each other. they would never worked out as robin or nightwing and batgirl, so why this obsession with the childhood friends to lovers thing? i don’t get it, it’s just not needed.

well I mean unless they're doing it through YJ animated series they did kind of grew up together as kids so it would be fitting if they were that kind of trope but I think it's just a nice thought in general where I think the average person knows how they started in the comics

i’m sorry i don’t really understand what you’re saying, they didn’t grow up together. originally they did have a relationship but it had a very different dynamic, a not romantic one. their robin and batgirl romantic dynamic is something that came later, it was a retcon and a completely unnecessary one.
