sometimes i think about how palpatine’s office was decorated with:
giant murals/reliefs of jedi vs sith wars of the past
nothing but blood red and black colors
a SITH INCENSE BURNER FROM THE SITH HOME PLANET on open display
sith spirit urns, placed on either side of the entrance
statues of controversial sages, one of who was known for studying the dark side of the force
and none of the jedi that were frequently inside of his office ever stopped, scratched their chin, and said ‘mmmmm that’s kinda suspicious, palps’
like his entire office was pretty much ‘sith themed’ and nobody blinked an eye i’m crying-
“oh, ok, carry on then, chancellor” - the entire jedi order who somehow didn’t think this was slightly suspicious until it was too late
Well, it’s been 1000 years/generations since the last tim the Sith were in power. Would the Jedi even know what propper Sith artifacts that aren’t holocrons even look like?
idk but his entire office is basically a sith museum complete with a giant stone mural depicting famous sith battles that takes up an entire wall
like most people have potted plants or something but he just had to be That Extra
I think the reason why they just collectively went “this is perfectly normal” is because Palpatine is from Naboo, the Fashion and Arts Center of the Universe where being extra is not only a character trait, but something deeply ingrained into the DNA.
They probably went like: Ugh - Politicians, am I right? At least it’s not lava-fountains.

I mean, the second Palpatine stopped pretending to be anything other than Darth Sidious, he immediately started wearing a plain black robe, nothing fancy or Extra. Meanwhile, Former Queen of Naboo Padme Amidala on, like, a regular Tuesday night:
