i know folks are gonna call me a pedo for this one, but i grew up seeing my mom and grandma naked. they had health issues and at times needed care and help showering. and i truly think more kids need to be shown the nonsexual reality of naked women at a young age. there is nothing sexual about my grandmothers breasts, they were simply body parts. more women die of heart attacks because people are too afraid of breasts to do real chest compressions, because they are scared to touch their breasts. the sexualization of our bodies literally kills us. i need people to be more normal about naked bodies and i'm 100% serious.

re: ai fanfics — fandom culture 100% has affected the way writers churn out content now. there’s no defense for ai writing but when your only feedback is comments begging for an update or part 2 instead of engaging with someone art turns a hobby into a numbers game. even the short form smut I see in the tags are all ai written because everyone is so focused on getting notes/hits. please engage with artists meaningfully!!!!!!!!

There is such a huge cavern where beautifully made fanfics should be.

There are so many fandoms where people are complaining there are no fics for, but will not write, nor try to write for that fandom.

I’ve seen so many people say it’s because they wouldnt get kudos or likes or clicks—so?

The point of creating a fan fic isn’t to get likes folks. I’m genuinely shocked to have to say this.

The point is to enjoy making something YOU want to make.

A03 is an archive. It’s one of the few if not only sites that is extremely anti-censorship.

It was made so people could create works of fiction and never worry about those works getting taken down by the site.

So what are you doing letting ai ruin that fun bit of self exploration to create something YOU would want to read.

I’ve started looking at my writers block like I’m a store employee.

Can’t figure out how to write this next scene?

Well I can’t stand around doing nothing or else management will write me up—better work on character analysis then.

Feeling overwhelmed when trying to create a timeline of events to follow?

You guessed it, no twiddling my thumbs on the bosses clock—better go edit through a few paragraphs to look busy.

Is this going to create a next chapter?

Probably not.

What it can do though is help fill in small holes. It helps to turn this massive mountain of writers block into something easier to climb and navigate.

I think ao3 is literally the only site where no censorship means no censorship. you can post the most vile things on there — things that will get taken down on any other platforms — and ao3 will protect you, your works, and your rights to create whatever you want, however you want.

and no, this isn’t me saying “write that messed up, disgusting thing” because while, yes, write it if it’s what you want (I myself enjoy writing dark fics, something I believe would be considered “vile” to a lot of people), this is me saying in a world of censorship and capitalism, ao3 really is a treasure.
