So long post: I remember sitting on the toilet in like 4th or 5th grade. I had always known I liked boys but I had a word for it that year and it was gay. It was the first time I said it out loud, "I'm gay." It was nice having a word to explain the difference between me and the other kids. Then in 6thgrade my mom asked me of I liked boys or girls because she was tired of waiting. She had known since I was 4 but has never treated me any different. A couple years ago though I had another struggle. And it was more difficult because I had not shared it with anyone. I was struggling with coming to terms with my gender identity. My self image in my head has never matched my physical self. But saying it out loud felt monumental. Unfortunately it was to an ex who understood but didnt seem to care either way. Even still I told more and more people and it help me decide to keeps everything I was born with and find new ways to Express those parts of my inner truth or whatever everyone calls it now. Lol Now here I am 26 almost 16 years self actualized 14 years out and 3 years working on being comfortable with all of it. Thanks to many people; friends, family, therapists, ex-lovers, ect. Putting up with me is not easy but for those of you that stuck around I am eternally grateful.
