The 2021 Chinese National Championships will take place in Chengdu, Sichuan, from May 4-9.
The roster is from a few weeks ago so it may still change. Most notably missing are Yin Sisi, Liu Jingxing and Zhang Di.
This competition will serve as the qualification for the National Games later this year in Xi’an, Shaanxi. The top 12 teams, top 24 all-arounders and top 8 per event will qualify. The gymnasts also need to pass the physical test, this test already took place a while ago.
The format will be 6-5-4 in qualifications. The age limit is 2006, but it is allowed to have up to two 2007 gymnasts in the team. The two per province rule is back for both the all-around and the event finals. The all-around rankings will be based on both the qualifications and the all-around final score. They have also added a new challenge for a possible extra gold medal. If the all-around winner of event final winner has a higher D-score than the winner from the 2019 World Championships, they will receive an extra gold medal. For reference, these scores are: 25.0, 6.0/5.8, 6.5, 6.4, 6.7.
