So i’ve been in a Power Girl mood lately so i thought i’d make a list of the best comics for all your Power Girl needs. Now i’m not as well versed with PG as i am with She-Hulk or X-Men so theres gonna be stuff missing here that i haven’t read yet, but i’ll do my best to cover the best stuff. 

Power Girl (1988)

The first book PG got and its s decent read. This was back when she was retconned to be the daughter of Arion, Lord of Atlantis so its a bit out of date, but its a interesting read for any fan of Karen. 

Justice League Europe

This was part of Giffen and DeMatteis JLI run that is absolutely worth reading, but if your only looking for PG then look no further than JL Europe. Expect some high jinks and shitty costume redesigns. None the less and great read. 

JSA by Geoff Johns

The beginning of modern PG. Y’know what that means? Retconns baby! This was the start of PG getting re retconned into being kryptonian again and being from Earth 2. PG doesn’t join the book in about issue 30, but the whole run is worth reading. 

Power Girl (2009)

The good stuff. This includes Amanda Connors iconic run on the character, but i’d say the entire book is great. If your gonna read just one thing on this list this should the the one to do so. 

JSA Classified

The beginning of Connors run and just like her everything else she did on the character its a must read for any PG fan. 

The Brave and the Bold (vol 3 #7)

This is where that famous meme came from. Y’know the one that made it look like Karen was gonna masturbate while thinking of Wonder Woman?

Yeah that one. Unfortunately the image was edited, but the issue itself is a fun one shot featuring a team up of Wondy and PG. Check it out. 

World’s Finest (New52)

The reboot of Power Girl and Huntress (Helena Wayne) while the characterization is a bit off and PG’s costume is trash its a decent fun team up with two great characters. The chemistry between Karen and Helena is great.

Supergirl (New52) #18-20

The first meeting of (new52) Kara and Karen. It goes how you’d expect. Its a cool meeting filled with punches and aliens. Its also when New52 PG got her old costume back because her new costume was sucked so they gave her old one back. 

Earth 2: Society

The Earth 2 books started out good, but when Worlds End and COvergence happened they got fucked up. This book takes place after those two events and was pretty good. PG is in the book, but she mostly as a background character. Still this is the last time Power Girl was featured in a book. 

Ever since she’s been stuck in limbo (literally) and brought back with Doomsday Clock and were still waiting for when DC officially bring her back. She’ll probably be featured in the latest JSA reboot, but were still waiting for DC to announce that.

Made extra awesome by how much of that book would absolutely not fly in today’s political climate. From PG chasing a peeping tom and accidentally flashing her neighbor, to Discount 70’s porn star alien asking her to help him repopulate his planet, to Terra’s sub terrainian spa-day.

It’s almost like a time capsule to when comics were just allowed to be fun without an agenda.

Dick Grayson and Tim Drake were the best brothers act in the DC universe. They came to have a sweet and emotionally realistic relationship based on love and respect that DC spent decades building. So can someone please tell me how that relationship went from this…

“Tim was a good kid. Smart. Efficient…reliable…” Really, this is highest praise Dick has for Tim in the Rebirth universe? It makes him sound like he’s describing his accountant instead of his little brother, which annoys me to no end. 

Yep yep yep! Liu was...pretty terrible. (If you want to read the full story, it's explained in Nightwing (1996) #135.) Liu took Dick's virginity when he was sixteen and she was roughly in her early twenties. (Her exact age was never established, but she was very clearly not a teenager, and that in and of itself is disgusting.)

It turned out that Liu was just using Dick for access to Wayne Enterprises tech or something, I can't really remember what exactly her motives were but yeah. It messed Dick up for a while and made it hard for him to trust women after that.
