Janka thoughts -christmas edition
Mistletoe is a poison. The leaves, stems and berries are all poisonous. Seen some super duper cute mistletoe Janka arts and they reminded me of this fact 🙂↕️
I'm too lazy (and scared!) to write up a proper fic, but this is what I got down in my notes app:
Jabber hangs some mistletoe of the ends of Mankira, some bells too for extra annoyance and festive feelings.
Each slash you can hear the jingle.
He teases Zanka for a kiss throughout their fight, and then Zanka is finally pinned. He has conceded this battle and is anticipating the kiss under the mistletoe decorated claw.
Zanka closes his eyes as lips seem to approach and then a quick bell sound rings
Stab.
JINGLE BELLS, YOURE POISONED, NEUROTOXIN WINS!
Then idk he gets a pity kiss, after Jabber finishes his Neurotoxin (Poison Remix) rendition.
Why is Zanka suffering from poison and silliness easier to visualise than the romance 😞
Also not entirely related, but I find it interesting, Mistletoe represented the "divine male essence" in Pagan societies ? Different sources say different stuff but the general consensus is the seeds of Mistletoe look like sperm. Hence male fertility importance.
Jabber would totally point it out, surely. That's too interesting to not be used. Maybe post-poisoning and post-singing and post-pity kiss, he infodumps about the various cultural beliefs surrounding mistletoe? Not sure if this kind of info is his niche though, since he would be way more into the science and properties imo. Need more sober Jabber to truly know.
Bedtime for me now, don't want these 5 am thoughts becoming 6 am thoughts.
Also the way I've written more now than I have for my dissertation Literature review I've been working on for the past 3 days is so silly of me
