"That's true. She always hated them, once she finds out that she became the monster that she feared..."
"You mean that she will break?"
The person that they were speaking of slowly woke up.
"Where am I? Who are you? Who am I?" She asked with a scratchy voice.
The two men in the room let out a breath that they were holding. One called for the healer.
The older women ran in and rushed to the girl's side.
"Wait, who are you people? I remember who I am, but who ARE you? How did I get hurt?" The young girl called out.
"Dear you saved us. Do you not remember?" The leader hated lying but this time he just twisted the truth. If she did not remember then it was the best thing he could do for her.
The healer insisted that she drinks water before she continues speaking.
"Men go, you're scaring her. I'll take care of it. Here drink up."
"All right we'll be on our way now. We will tell everyone of this improvement in her condition."
They left the house with the girl in it for they had other business to attend to.
"Joshua go tell those on the outskirts what just happened. I'll go tell the librarian."
"Yes sir." He ran off after replying.
He looked at the damage sadly knowing there was nothing that he could have done about it. The old woman's body was nowhere to be found, he guessed it went back to the forest. The fight between the two had been grand, although he suspected that there was two souls in one body now. Only time would tell. He continued his short journey to the library.
The girl was panicked, that much was obvious.
"Dear please calm down a little, I will explain everything soon." The healer attempted to calm her. She had yet to see how much she remembered.
"Your name first. Tell me why I don't just run out now?"
"Alright, I'll tell you my name if you say that you will stay." She held out her hand to seal the deal.
"Fine." The girl reluctantly shook her hand.
"That's better. My name is Jasmine. Your's?"
"Alright Cristal you saved us from an old being that lived in this forest. It was causing us much harm, but you stopped it. In turn I do believe that you lost something, am I right?"
"I do seem to have lost my memory. Is there a way I can get them back Miss Jasmine?"
"There could be a way child, but the fight was not the best. I recommend against trying to find them in case you scar yourself. Mental damage is the hardest to undo."
"Oh. I don't want to be a burden, but is there a place where I can stay for now?"
"You can stay with me for a while. But you will need to help out around here."
"Help with what? I can heal. That is the only other thing I know."
"Oh? You can heal? That will come in handy, seeing as I am the healer around here. But I was thinking more along the lines of chores."
"Well I can do both. One last question, where am I?"
"You're in the forest town called MoonFall. Well that's what we call it."
"Ok. I guess I'll stay here in MoonFall for now."
And Cristal did stay in MoonFall. She stayed in it until destiny called. She will do great things for the whole world, but she didn't know that yet. That's the price you pay for living in the present.
