Okay, so expanding on my theory that the woman vecna was inlove with was the matron of ravens before ascension.

We know that the Matron was a well known mage, as Patia of the ring of brass knew her from the context of her remembering a mage that had black hair and was quite powerful, but she can't remember her name!

We also know after her ascension that the matron erased all mentions of her mortal self, even her mortal name from the minds of those who knew her.

Now here's an image from Vecnas flashback thing, notice how the matron isn't in it? Odd since you would think that he and his love would also plead to the goddess of death, but what if they did, just it wasn't a goddess, it was the god that the matron took over for, and since the matron erased everything of him, then it would make sense that he wouldn't show up, because he was erased from the universe.

Now the mortal woman, Vecna says through his research he found a powerful mage who also suffered lose, maybe that was the matron, as she was known as a powerful mage back before the calamity, maybe this was the start of her pursuit for the ritual of seeding.

Now in downfall we meet the avatar of the matron, she looks kinda similar to the mortal woman who vecna loved, i know we don't see much of the womans face, but her face structure and hair reminds me of Emhira (the avatar)

Now in the second image is the second time that we see the matron in the flashback (we see her in the corner of the clip where vecna and the woman are standing on the world) but this is the first proper way we see her, and especially in her near full divine form. What if Vecna walked in on the ritual of seeding, and saw the matron destroy her own mortal body. And we know she eliminated all of her research after her ascension.

Now you may ask. Why would mythcaver show a warped version of the truth? Because the gods don't want the truth to get out about the ritual, and the matron doesn't want to dwell on her mortal past, plus i think once something is erased from the universe then that is the truth, it never existed really after being erased.

Another thing, Vecna never says her name, he never tells us what his lover was called, thats suspicious to me, and supports my theory imo, because he can't remember her name, he can't remember her clearly and mythcaver can't show her clearly because she is the matron when mortal, the matron of pre calamity.

I also think its interesting then of their parallels, the matron lives in lenthra, which is in the same realm as thar ampala (sorry for any spelling mistakes) and they both wanted to rise to godhood for other people, the matron for the late god of death, and vecna for the mortal woman and everybody he lost
