welcome to color challenge 2026!! ever felt like you're in a coloring rut? finding yourself doing too many creations in the same coloring, the same idea over and over? tired of defaulting to black and white? i propose we change that, challenge ourselves. for this year, each month will have its own color (or color pairing), theme & challenge. up to you how you want to interpret everything. join in and find something fun to make!!

OBJECTIVE

each month make at least one gifset/graphic in the color matching with that month

reblog other creations created to build that sense of community and inspiration

make giffing fun again, etc etc.

THINGS TO KNOW

anyone can join!! the more the merrier in my opinion.

you do not have to do each month & you do not need to only post for that month, you may do any previous month at any time.

you can do multiple creations in the same month with the same color, theme and/or challenge.

you can combine a current month with a previous month (including color, theme & challenge).

there are color combinations sprinkled through out the year.

there will be a month specific post that will be posted on the 1st of each month and linked in this masterpost.

don't forget to follow the color challenge tag (#colorchallenge2026) and reblog other creations in the tag.

i will be tagging all of my creations with #*cc2026 and all reblogs with #colorchallenge2026 for easy finding on my own blog. these will not go in my queue like other tracked posts do, they will be reblogged within that month.

JULY (july 1st - july 31st)

color: green | theme: summer hits | challenge: create something that reminds you of summer &/or current summer anthem.

welcome to july!! our first round of green! a rather gorgeous color but also a color that we often try to neutralize in our creations. so this should be a fun experiment. i wanted to highlight summer since the northern hemisphere is currently in the middle of it (and suffering). all of you currently in winter, you can think back on your previous summers or choose something that makes you excited for the coming summer. summer has always been a huge music time for me (i blame warped tour!!). so that's why i have the challenge of summer anthem. what is currently in your on repeat playlist? what should everyone else be listening to this summer? and if music isn't your style, then show off those summer films and tv shows. as always, the theme and challenge are up to your interpretation!! i'm so excited to see what you all come up with, i'm sure it's going to blow me away like all of the creations have so far.
