A Star Is Born

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a not-so-secret obsession with the one-and-only Celine Dion. I have loved her since I can remember (literally my first memory involves listening to her music #truestory). So, naturally, when I discovered she was holding a contest for fans to submit videos with a chance of being included in a special montage that will be a part of her show, I jumped on it! I woke up at 6 AM on a Sunday, dragged my sister and my bestie to South Beach (those girls are AMAZING btw) and started filming. I submitted the finished product later that day and said a prayer that she, my Queen, would consider using it in her show. The thought of my idol possibly seeing me, noticing me, was enough to bring me to tears. I never could have imagined that a week later her Facebook and Twitter pages would SHARE my video and call me “FABULOUS” (!!!!). I don’t have the words– my heart is pounding through my chest with excitement. I am thrilled, honored, amazed, gleeful, blissful… This is EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Celine Dion is my everything. She is my reason. In a little over a month, I will be going to her show in Las Vegas on opening night (August 27) with my sister. Meeting her would change my life and I can’t help but hope that this might help me get a little bit closer. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world tonight. If you happen to read any of this, and you find it in your heart, please like this post. I know I have been more blessed than I deserve and I certainly don’t need any more attention, I just can’t shake the feeling that this might help my biggest dream come true.

Every time I put this book down, whether open or closed or page up or down, she was there. Happy as can be. And so freaking cute that I didn’t want to move her, which meant I was not going to finish it.

So finally, in protest and so I could actually finish this book, I gave her another one

I finished my book (White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi, highly recommend) but I left the decoy out.

She’s been sleeping on it every night. It’s been a week.
