What I've read this year so far not including a handful on my kindle and todayβs workstation. Spent all of today catching up with pending tasks. Clearing backlogs and such. What a relief to have gotten it all done. I look forward to a perfectly productive βdo-nothingβ Sunday π
My least favorite things about anti- UBI discourse is always the techbros whining that "nobody is going to work anymore! People will just watch Netflix all day!" and I have 2 responses:
1) Who the fuck cares. Who the fuck cares what people do with their time! That's kind of the fucking point!
2) People aren't going to stop laboring. Housework (look, it's right there in the word!) will still need to be done. So will maintenance on our homes and personal spaces. Children will still need carers, as will the elderly and disabled. There are millions of examples of ~work~ that we do all the time, uncompensated, that won't suddenly stop because we aren't forced to sell our labor to provide corporation's profits.
I'm not surprised that what is traditionally women's work is invisible to these dipshits, but it never fails to anger me.

Field studies have been conducted in several countries now, and the result is always the same - people will just flop about for a couple of months to recover from the burnout most people who have a job live with, and then they look for something to do. Some get a job with reduced hours, and some start doing charitable stuff like volunteering in soup kitchens and teaching others to do whatever their particular skill is. They socialize more, they are happier, and on average, people will work more, not less.
But the thing is, employers suddenly have to think about how to make their jobs appealing enough for someone to come and do them! It's hard to find someone to work for you for long hours under horrible conditions, if they can just choose not to; which shows you how voluntary our current system actually is.

28.04.2026, Tuesday. Spring is progressing nicely - along with my mood. The semester started pleasantly enough, but I can already feel the stress catch up. I'll be doing a lot of reading this semester, including Gogol's Dead Souls and Austen's Emma. However, I'm also trying to prioritise movement and social interactions this season. As long as the sun is out, I'll be fine.

Love it here because its green, and quiet + good parking opportunities and i absolutely adore the deutsches museum shop. Could leave a ton of money there.
I booked one of the few study desks with recharge opportunity and enjoy the slight wind coming in from the isar river which flows right by.

less than 24 hours after taking these photos i had to go to the ER with a fever of 105. but i did submit my english paper on time!
being a STEM major means i don't usually get to spend my time on something as fun as literary analysis, so in that sense this gothic lit class has been a blessing β but it's also stressful to be graded on something i've spent so little time practicing for the past few years.
My grandma just called and, among other things, saidΒ βYou have hips. Thatβs good! Men like hips!β and then she interrupted herself to sayΒ βWomen like hips. People of your preferred gender like hips. I can never rememberβΒ And I was likeΒ βThanks grandma! My preferred gender is none of them, no thanks.β and she was likeΒ βOkay, no one will comment on your hips!β very self satisfied, likeΒ βaha, I have figured it outβ I think like half her grandkids are some variety of not-straight and she canβt always remember which is which but she is the epitome of like βsheβs a little confused, but sheβs got the spirit!β

It's been... Months? Maybe. Since the last time I wrote a post. I was kind of fighting a lot of battles, like god's strangest soldier or something like that (even though I have never enlisted)
Anyways, I finished my classes and I am going to really miss my colleagues and the classes. It's a weird kind of feeling empty, but I have to write my thesis, so I'm not really processing it
To whoever is reading this: Please, take care of yourself. Don't push yourself past exhaustion, because, even if you may not notice it now, it could have serious repercussions in your mental or physical health

I was blessed to go on a cruisy 5km with an amazing woman this morning. She's such an amazing role model to me, and I'm sure she doesn't even realise it. It really started my day on the right foot.
