Nobody in the Railroad really knows who Deacon is, but they still trust him like family. For all they know he just stumbled into the place and just decided to roll with it. Also, all of his constant lying to cover up his ass. And all the weirdly specific information he knows. Like he knows who President Eden was and it’s implied he might’ve known he was a robot. He knows what rehab support groups are as evidenced from the druggie vault. He knows about the Capital Wasteland, Lyons’ Brotherhood, and Project Purity. He somehow knows MacCready. He somehow knows what salsa is, saying he could go for mirelurk steak and salsa. He seems to know just about everyone. He’s been stalking you since you left the vault. He has an outfit for just about everywhere. He could be transgender. He’s gotten cosmetic surgery at least once or twice. No matter how many times you remove it from his inventory, he’s always somehow carrying a pompadour wig. Just Deacon in general is a wild, fucking ride.
