hi! 🪩 i decided to make a short introductory post to welcome you to my little corner.

i'm sophie! as you've probably already noticed from my layout, I'm emotionally vintage and absolutely obsessed with the 80s. 🎬

what you'll find here: lots of nostalgia, retro aesthetics, and a huge admiration for john hughes' films.

And I want to make it clear where I stand: I like Blane. His dynamic with Andie is my favorite part of the entire movie. No one has to agree with me about them, but I won't tolerate any hate now or in the future. I don't care who prefers Duckie or Steff; I am here and will remain here solely for Andie and Blane, and for the love between them, which I believe is the most real thing I’ve ever watched.

Blane is so much more than the "selfish, spoiled" label people try to pin on him. When he tells Andie they can leave Steff's party, he opens the door for her to feel comfortable and suggest going somewhere she actually enjoys! He agrees to go to the bar with her stepping out of his comfort zone and ends up facing insults and mockery from Duckie and others! Andie demanded that he publicly claim her, yet when he willingly stepped into her world, he didn't even complain about the hostile reception he received.

Nobody will probably read this or if they do, it doesn't really matter but I need to say that I made a terrible mistake this afternoon. I’ve mentioned in a few posts that I’m Brazilian and am gradually learning English; since I’m not yet fully fluent, I sometimes misinterpret things, and I ended up responding rudely to someone here who I think just wanted to discuss the movie *Pretty in Pink* with me. I feel so bad that I couldn't even bring myself to unblock them to apologize, because the way I replied is beyond fixing. After this, I don't think I can stay here anymore; it might seem dramatic to some, but I deeply value respect and kindness, and realizing I crossed that line due to a misunderstanding is just too much for me to handle...
