I can tell you stopped loving me but I still don’t understand what makes you think that forcing yourself to stay would make it hurt any less.

Being with you made me feel like I was losing my mind, but your absence made me lose myself.

Bend me like an old paperback book. Bend me like you want to break me because the way you're looking at me tonight tells me I won’t get out of here unscathed.

This week I found myself reminiscing about my year: the losses and the gains, the pain and the joy I felt. I thought about the blessings I will treasure for the rest of my life and my biggest regrets. It was you that I was thinking about.

I can't remember who we were before we broke each other's hearts.

It is during this time of the year when I miss you the most. I wonder who met you underneath the mistletoe. I wonder who was your guest for your family's annual Holiday gathering. I wonder who you kissed at midnight on New Years' Eve. I still wish it was me.

One day I woke up and decided that I wasn’t going to write to you, or about you, ever again. That day was today and this is my goodbye.

I was never taught how to love in healthy ways.

2017 was the worst year of my life but when I stumbled, I picked myself up. I am proud of myself.

I know I missed your brother’s graduation, your mom’s birthday and your promotion party and I wish I could have been there but I guess I’ll have to settle for the Facebook pictures.

I can't just be your best friend anymore.

Life is too short to read books you're not interested in, to do things you don't like, and to spend time with people that don't motivate you to be better.
