I finally made my first yarn wig after 10+ years of crocheting my cosplays...
My Pokemon crochets in a slideshow video!! :D
The goal is to crochet at least one of each Pokemon species! It's a big project and I thought this would be a neat way to visualize my progress so far!
Sometimes I think I'm not that crazy (regarding this project) but then I remember this video from a few years ago. Each Pokemon on the screen for only a second and the video was still over 8 minutes long. There are at least 100 more Pokemon that I've done since then that can be added to the video. I made each of those little guys. by hand. without patterns. what.

What’s clear (to me, anyway) is that the otters aren’t scared of The Big Ginger Hairy Man With A Stick, and that the orangutan isn’t upset.
If he got really fed up with their blanket-stealing attempts, he’s quite capable of taking his blanket up somewhere the otters couldn’t get at it.
This might happen in a while if his patience runs out, but it’s not happening right now because Whack-an-Otter is more entertaining.

This massive friend is my first original design! He’s far from perfect (there’s a reason he’s only being photographed from the front), but after 11 years of knitting stuffies from patterns, I figured it’s about time I stretched my wings a bit.

I made a 1m long plushie baby Diplodocus!! This little (big) baby is up for sale on my website!
This was designed in conjunction with the University of Zurich who commissioned the first 30cm hatchling, this is a slightly older one!
I haven't done a new dinosaur in ages. Maybe this will mark a trend in a more saurian direction...

The little one is roughly the size of a 3 week old hatchling, it was commissioned by the University of Zurich for their new Natural History Museum.
The intention is that it will be used as an accessibility tool for visually impared people, the idea is that they will carry it around with them and be able to refer to it to help them understand the diplodocus exhibit (a lot of the text is in braille I believe). They hired an advisor and my plushies came out on top when it came to readability and were more "alive" than a 3D print (which was their original plan).
I really loved working on this and it made me think about another angle of plush-making and science outreach- I would love more commissions like this. I absolutely adore it when my work is used for scientific communication, you can fit so much information about an animal in a reconstruction like this and it's also VERY approachable- nobody is worried about breaking a plushie, they're fun and playful and tactile. I just love it!
Jeny’s interlock cast off exactly mirrors the long-tail (and the backward loop) cast on AND is a very good stretchy bind off.
This baby sweater is knit bottom up, but I made the sleeves top down, picking up stitches around the armhole, so to get the same edge on the ribbing, I did the long-tail cast on on the body and the interlock cast off on the sleeves.

I think this last paragraph is possibly one of the finest pieces of writing in the English language. I think of it often.
