Not saying Slaanesh is a god of sex, but "god of excess" seems like a sort of disingenuous oversimplification used by people uncomfortable with the hypersexuality of Slaaneshi cultists.

Sure, yeah there's excess going on, but why is anyone doing [x] to an excessive degree? Because it induces pleasure, thats the underlying mechanism. Slaanesh is the god of sensation-seeking.

If it really was just about doing anything you enjoy too much, there'd be a slew of Ultramarines who end up corrupted over their excessive love of filing paperwork, but you never do see that sort of shit.

It's about chasing extreme stimuli. That's why you've got noise marines, that's why Slaaneshi adherents love doing drugs, that's why they love feasting and fucking, it's why Cyrion gets a thrill from causing fear, etc. Sensation is the core thing here.

It's all a very blatant metaphor for addiction and, like real world addiction, you can get addicted to anything...but lets be real, the people addicted to drugs and sex far outnumber the people addicted to sniffing armpits or scrubbing grout with a toothbrush
