Listen I'm an elain stan, through and through. I don't care who she ends up, as long as she ends up happy, smiling and glowing in the end of her book. I love elain, I love azriel and I love lucien. My only ship is happiness, peace, gardening, soft pretty gowns, and maybe a little bit of violence too.

If she ends up with azriel? Great

Someone entirely new? Honestly? I wouldn't even be mad

If she ends up alone cause no man is worth her time and the only person she would chose in the end is herself? ICONIC

Honestly, if I had it my way I would make her end up with me.

So yeah in the end I'll be happy with whoever she ends up with, cause whoever elain will be falling in love with will be the person I will fall in love with as well.

This whole ship discourse is honestly wild to me cause the entire elain storyline seems to be reduced to a "who's she gonna kiss?" storyline. People have made her whole character about who she's gonna end up with- like she doesn't have visions of the future to unpack and trauma to heal from. So no matter who she ends up with in the future, I'll be cheering for her because she deserves that peace, love and respect.

Like the world looks very different and like, surprise, you've been forcibly essentially married to a stranger who also was like involved in bringing you into this world and like betraying you and like shoving you into the cauldron.It's a lot. She's got a lot of shit that she's processing. And so like exploring a concept of free will, like what does that look like with a mating bond? What, like, what does that mean? And like, does nature get it wrong sometimes? Does it get it right sometimes? Like what, exactly? And like, that again, like as a writer I have to be very, I'm like, I like to find things that interest me. Like, you get mated to someone and like you don't want to be mated. I'm like, what do you do? Like you're stuck with this person? Like what do you do? But like, I mean, the guy is like hot, but it's like what if it's not? Like you don't know, like it's just something that I really find to be an interesting concept, versus like Feyre and Nesta, where it was so easy for them, like nature picked right, but... yeah.
