I always see people talk about the next book being a pov with all three Elain, Azriel and Lucien but Azriel being there at all confirms he is the endgame cause romance authors don’t just add another romance for the fmc when she has a mate already unless he is her actual endgame. It would only make sense if elriel came before the elucien mate bond was known in the specific book but its the opposite.
Its like a romance book where a woman is arranged to marry a prince but falls in love with her bodyguard. The man shes not supposed to marry initially is the one she ends up with.

I find it very interesting that when Sarah had the opportunity in the CHD podcast to explain what it means to be mates, she VERY quickly goes into the negative aspects of it.
Q: Can you quickly explain what that (mates) means in the world.
A: It's kind of like your destined true love in a way, but it's complicated because there's a biological component to it. Where you can be mated to someone who is like, not actually your true love. So there's like true-true mates, and then there's like...nature made a mistake.
I mean like Rhys's parents--did not love each other. Like, it was not a great relationship. But they were mates, and it was like, there's a biological thing where it's like, we want to be together, but we're fucking miserable with each other--especially his mom. So it's tricky.
But when you find your perfect mate--like Rhys and Feyre, Cassian and Nesta--that is like the last little piece of your soul that was kind of like a little broken, and is like now...you found your person.
For an author who is a "fated mates author," she spent quite a long time telling us why it can kind of suck. lmao Who wants to be "fucking miserable" with their partner??
There is a really easy way to explain Sarah’s response: it’s because she was in Elain’s mind while writing her book, so she views the mating bond strongly from Elain’s perspective. If she were asked this question during acomaf, trust me her answer would be similar to this but more positive.

Imagine you’ve picked up ACOSF.
Part one starts off as Nesta/Cassian POV, part 2 is Feyre and Rhys pov, part 3 is a different couples pov and then part 4 is another different couples pov.
Does that sound cohesive to you? Does that sound like something that makes sense as one fucking book that’s so huge she had to split it? No. It doesn’t. No matter which way you slice it.
It's interesting how quickly the 'Illyrian Plot' folks are now tearing their shirts and thumping themselves on their chests screaming 'of course the book is about Autumn Court!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
Monday afternoon it was the Illyrian Plot with Gwyn.
Now, it's 'I'm no longer participating in the ship wars!' and "well, obviously the book will be about Autumn court' and "it's clearly Azriel, Elain and Lucien!' though last week, 'Elain can't carry a book'
Suddenly, Elain no longer needs to travel to the Continent, but should definitely stay in Prythian and in Autumn, and Gwyn, somehow, is no longer tasked with sorting out Autumn and bonding with LoA.
My flubbers are gasted with how quickly all of this changed.
INDIGO told us why Gwyn isn’t on the Equinox. They said because Gwyn has something coming for her own promotion to get us ready for 6! They said its the cover because it has a pegasus. We have proof
if you actually had proof it'd be all over gwynriel spaces and we couldn't make a single post without it being shoved up our asses. lying for attention at your big age. eat my ass
atp with the absolute lack of gwyn at every turn i have to wonder if SJM genuinely resents her as a character and has put an embargo on mentioning her.
because bloomsbury isn't stupid, they know she's a fan favourite. so why not include her?
she wasn't in the mates quiz, or in the autumn equinox promo. she wasn't even in the pilates valkyrie workout promo as that only included questions about the core characters. SJM hasn't talked about her once.
if i'm being honest i think SJM knows about the ship war but resents that it's mainly gwynriel / elriel rather than elucien / elriel as that second option is what's actually in the books.
i wonder if she's so fed up of it all that she won't even acknowledge gwyn anymore because she knows gwynriels will kick off about it.

the way gwynriels babify azriel's personality to make him more compatible with gwyn as if he's not a 538 year old fae whose day job is ripping people in half.

taking azriel for what he is in the books reveals just how incompatible he is with gwyn. that would not be a relationship where azriel can relax, which is the opposite of what he needs.
reblogging my own post (again) to say the reason why they do this is because they know there is a significant gap in maturity between azriel and gwyn (where there isn't between azriel and elain) so their solution is to make him act like a teenager to match her girlish energy.

elriel and vassien don't have an intensely symbiotic relationship like gwynriel and elucien do.
elriel will happen regardless of whether lucien gets a HEA or even a POV. vassien is a happy addition, sure.
it's not like that with gwynriel and elucien. because if elain is still in the picture in any form, azriel will always choose her. it's why so many elucien/gwynriel theories need elain to leave the NC.
as soon as gwynriels and eluciens collectively realise that gwyn isn't getting a POV/isn't a main character, it's wraps for them. that's how weak their ships are lmao.

Honestly, I know they are going to happen because of the text in the books, sure i guess they’d be cute but i don’t “ship” them and from what i have seen most elriels would say the same. They’re simply an inevitability.

The thing is Vassien happening or not happening doesn’t change elriel or eluciens dynamic. Elucien will still be a non issue.

These book content creators genuinely baffle me because WHY are they SO convinced that ACOTAR 6, 7 and 8 are going to be completely separate stories? Did their listening comprehension leave the building? 😭 is it really that hard to understand that these are FOUR PARTS OF ONE BOOK?
The SAME four parts Nesta had, and I don't see anyone saying her book needed more characters, different Courts or completely separate storylines to fill it out... the problem is that, in their little air-filled heads, they see Elain as a boring, irrelevant character who could disappear and nothing would change, and apparently the only way she could possibly be important is if she becomes a villain or ends up with Lucien 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Because God forbid we see Elain carrying multiple plotlines in a huge book all on her own, without needing a man to make her story relevant ✨️
Please BB / Sarah, announce Elain's book already, I desperately need some visual and auditory rest from all these idiots who genuinely think a character like Lucien or Gwyn is more important than Elain :)
