the internet has seriously been pissing me off as more and more people start these discussions of looking naturally alt, or having alt features. What the actual fuck are you getting at ? why are we creating boxes to put ourselves and others in when we are supposedly practicing a non conformist subculture. Guess what, I am not white, I do not have straight hair, or facial piercings or tattoos, the only piercings i have are in my ears, I dont have bangs, I've never had an unnatural hair style or color, I don't dress outwardly alternative all the time (I work a corporate job but also I have a creatively oppressive family) I enjoy color and often don't find myself wearing black all the time. But what I will tell you, is i know who I am and that is a punk, and idc what you say about my looks or my personality I know who I am, my political beliefs, my music taste, and how I see the world and interact with the people in it all point to the subculture that I have been apart of since early in my youth. If you identify with a subculture, and you live by it that is enough you don't need to LOOK a certain way, or go to a certain amount of concerts or be a certain weight ,or have tattoos, or FIT into this fucking box all these posers are trying to build for you. Live by what you love, treat people and the earth with kindness, and never back down to oppression.
