FUCKKKKKKK what if something bad happened and I forgot to worry about it
After viewing several topographical maps, an old wagon wheel, and a few rusting farm implements, visitors to Hopkinton’s local history museum confirmed Monday that the curators had clearly dug deep to fill the two 15-by-20-foot rooms at their disposal. “The first room had photos of the town’s past and a handful of framed newspaper clippings by the entrance, but the next display case was basically just full of old railroad spikes,” said Hopkinton resident Clara Bouchard, who spent less than a minute examining a 1948 photograph of the town’s former train depot before concluding the structure, which now houses a café and yarn store, looks more or less the same today as it did then.

STOP saying the otherworldly powers are corrupting my mind godddddd. You literally wish you were us. I mean us. I mean me.
I bet reifying christianity in its subversion feels good as hell if you're an ex christian who hasn't thought about it very hard
There's a fairly prominent strain of thought that essentially presupposes christian ideology and/or cosmology to be largely true, just that you'd rather be 😈 Bad 😈 than follow the rules. Which strikes me as very immature. "I haven't meaningfully deconstructed any of this, I just found out I'm gay" type beat. You're still believing in christianity. You don't have to
This is what the term "culturally christian" describes btw. Which a lot of ex christians take umbrage with -- when you're operating within christianity's framework, being A Christian is about not only belief but also correct practice/performance of christianity, ergo if you purposefully reject it you're not in any way christian anymore. But this isn't really how it works; christianity comes with many, many cultural ideas outside the theological itself & christian hegemony in the western world can make it hard to see. Unless! You think about it harder
Like ..................... this is a miscommunication I've watched happen. A Lot. And unfortunately it's nigh impossible to explain succinctly if you're the type of person who needs to hear it, i.e. haven't meaningfully deconstructed any of this
Leans over. And learning about other cultures & religions can be extremely helpful for seeing outside of christianity & its approved messaging. You don't necessarily have to adopt any of it but just philosophically it's good to see other viewpoints. Cause that's the thing, isn't it? It isn't just about god, it's about your entire worldview. If you want to *really* deprogram yourself you'll need to engage with meaningfully non-christian schools of thought, not just invert christian values
