Voltron Season 3
These are spoilers, and what I picked up from season three and my predictions for season 4. So I have a record of it later on to yell about getting it right. SORRY ALL YOU HOMESTUCKS WHO FOLLOWED ME, I’m a Voltron Dork now.
That’s not Shiro, that’s Kuro. Based on the leaked screencap from that instagram of the voice actress Kimiko Glenn who I believe did the voice of cute pink half galra girl who calls the lions “kitties” Ezor, Shiro still has grey hair and this ‘Kuron’ has black. Shiro means silver, Kuro means black. Without any memories, suspiciously waaaay back in the game no less, and waking up in a nutritive gel pod? Kuron’s arm was also weaker than Shiro’s, Shiro’s can cut through Galran ship metal, he can’t cut through jack shit, not even a crab. Not to mention the Galra sort of just, let him go, and he immediately began conflicting with everyone at home. Even Keith, he kept reaching out for Keith which the real Shiro has never done and Keith keeps offering him his back, even with his support, and side eyeing him from a distance or even stepping on each other’s toes. The Black Lion also rejected him as if he was never Shiro at all, since it still said hi to Zarkon after ditching him so I mean, it doesn’t reject old owners. It rejects new ones. Plus his hair is extremely long, that hair has been growing for years. Years, as in how long it’s been since they had Shiro as a Gladiator. If Shiro ever got killed in the fights, they would probably want to replace him. Plus they’d need test subjects for earlier versions of the arm to make sure it would work with his alien systems. Now that the war is on, he’s extra valuable to them as a way to get in against the Paladins. That’s a Shiro clone. That is not Shiro, and the way Keith looks at him, he has his suspicions.
Also I believe Zarkon and Haggar are possessed by those glowy purple things. They’re possessed Zombies who didn’t know what was going on, but after being jostled I think they’re coming back from the brink. This is going to be interesting, because killing them isn’t an option if they can bring back the original personalities. I mean sure, Zarkon betrayed everyone for the love of his life especially knowing what the quintessence did to that cat (Lotor’s lizard warg Narti still has it.) But he’s not evil, he’s just you know. Being controlled. Especially since they were all diddly dang kids at the time they started fighting together. That’s plenty of time for Honerva and Zarkon to go evil from fucking with that shit, especially since her personality almost shifted visibly in that small sequence we saw. I have a feeling it infected her cat first, then made it sick when it couldn’t convince her, which made her touch it. Then it infected her, and when it couldn’t convince Varkon with words, it made HER sick and he jumped to save her, where it promptly infected HIM. The Quintessence isn’t evil, the DARK energy is. That alternate reality is a balance of pure life and pure death, and death wants chaos and destruction and to end the lives of everyone: hence the Galra destroying lives as rapidly as possible. Vrepit Sa. Whereas in the alternate reality, I think the Alteans were the ones who had this situation happened and they unleashed the light, and life’s ultimate wish is to PRESERVE life, which ended in the gross mind control bullshit.
Lotor is currently collecting the following: Non-Galra worlds controlling themselves. Extremely large Teleduv teleportation devices he can use himself. Reality-warping comet metal (Trans-dimensional sentient comet metal which named itself Voltron and created itself into the form of lions?) So I think he wants to break into another rift, but in a controlled way. A much more massive rift than anything we’ve seen yet. Either to save his parents, or to unleash the rest of the things that raised him in the form of his parents before sending him into exile. I think maybe they had him post-death/possession, and he was exiled for being against their take-over. I’m betting he wants to be able to control a Rift while throwing the bad things out, and being able to snap it closed afterwards instead of leaving a gaping wound in reality like his Dad did. He’s such a planner that that would make sense.
If the rift between the Red and Black Paladin is mirrored like much of the rest of the personalities and interactions, we could see Keith and Kuron breaking apart, which will cause the fandom to cause a ruckus amongst the shippers who will scream Sheith is dead, but then REAL Shiro returning is going to fix that rift. Here’s the “Shiro is dead, here is his clone” that the alt-universe Sven was supposed to be a Red Herring for. You sneaky sons of bitches.
THESE ARE MY THEORIES. LET US WATCH WHAT COMES OF THEM.
