Lack of respect

They discredited us

Expectations are destruction of our spirits

But we are here to prove ourselves

First we check in with the champions

A team of Goliaths

We took a heavy loss

But we showed grit and drive

The second game was a statement

Oh yeah they got beaten by a group of "f**king reservists"

Third game was a preview of the playoffs

And the fourth ended in a win

With an unexpected outcome

In the first game of the playoffs

Toronto took control of the game early

Unleashing a barrage of shots

Defensively sound even though undersized

Setting fear in the hearts of the home fans

Turning the pressure up to a breaking point

But then a time out was called

And they began trapping the corners

Unexpected with no counter attack

Resulting in consecutive turnovers

Momentum shifted in the last minute

Resulting in a heart breaking loss

But we gained respect when the game was over

Toronto is here to stay

We will always compete

And that showed in the game of the tournament

Next year we are coming for Goliath

We aren't satisfied with two wins

We don't plan on leaving without a medal

I keep thinking of the past

Because the future scares me

The discomfort that comes with the unknown

Sends me on a chase for previous experiences

Random messages out of the blue

Saying things that I don't mean

I'm running away from the present

Hoping to relieve myself of these unsettling feelings

I keep thinking of you

And the time we spent together

Not because I want you back

But because it gives me a weird sense of comfort

Up all night

I can't seem to silence my mind

The fear of tomorrow

Fearing who I might become over time

Random thoughts

I don't think that I had ever shared my feelings

You were my cast, my crutch

But I never asked if you wanted to be it

I keep thinking of the future

And all the success we would enjoy

Learning from prior mistakes

Something as simple as communication has become harder

Previous experiences

Clouded judgment

Watering toxic seeds

Expecting to grow a healthy garden

My failure

My inability to go outside the box

Finding comfort in predictability

Another Valentine's Day came and went

And you spent it at home and alone

Like everyone else, that's always right

Your family wondering what's going on

You change the subject to get them off your back

But their questions still lingers

What happened to so and so?

Why did you chase them away?

You're not getting any younger

And I want to live to see my grandchildren

But it's a normal day in your mind

Chocolates by the bags

But none, from any secret admirers

Hey big head, what's up?

No surprise

You'll never get a reply

Especially after cutting daily communication months before

And you find yourself alone

Cupid ran out of arrows

When you wandered into his scope

No Valentine's

But you'll be somewhere tomorrow

The 15th belongs to us

For this is the day we'll be at local candy stores

You're running🏃🏾‍♂️💨 & all of a sudden you stop dead in your tracks

You are stuck

It hurts to move & even worse to get up

How could this have happened?

I've been taking this same route for over a week now

How did I not see this, it was placed right in my tracks, 🤦🏾‍♂️literally right in the open, no concealment

Do I lay here and wait for something to happen?

Ahhhh shhhhhhiiiiiit

It hurts 🤕 the more I try to rise

I can feel flesh tearing away from my skin each time I move

My only chance of survival is to rip my arms off

The dilemma of the Superglue Rat Trap

127 hours and counting

I don't know if I have the strength

To sacrifice my arms for a chance at survival

The glue sticks more and more on to my skin the longer I stay still

Psyching myself up, mentally trying to come to term with my outcome

The only way to escape this super glue is by ripping away each nerve, each layer of flesh

The options are:

1) Crawling away armless

Or

2) Laying there motionless waiting for certain death
