Remus sighed, sitting on the edge of the counter. “Pads, no. Definitely not,” he responded to the picture being waved under his nose.
Sirius pouted slightly, a mischievous glint in his clear grey eyes. “But Mooney... it’s perfect!” He responded, scratching at the stubble on his jaw. “I mean, it looks great! Purple is a wonderful colour!”
Remus shook his head slightly, a small grin lighting up on his face. “It is,” he agreed. “But I’d prefer if our house looked a little more... normal.” He explained, glancing at the oddly shaped house.
“But it’s close to the Weasleys, and unique!” Sirius protested. “Anyways, if we don’t get it, Xeno, that Lovegood guy, gets it. He’s offering a lot of money for it.”
“Nick, Nack, Paddywhack—“ a young child’s voice could be heard laughing through the small apartment, as it sang along.
Sirius suddenly grinned. “Hey, why don’t we ask Harry?” He asked Remus, not waiting for an answer. The man placed down the photos, and left into the living room.
“Sirius... I doubt Harry—“ Remus began, but was cut off as Sirius reappeared in the doorway, holding the struggling toddler.
“Mooney!” He shrieked, waving his chubby arms around, reaching for the man. Remus let out a small laugh, and took Harry.
“Hazza, wanna help your uncle Padfoot, and Moons?” Sirius asked, a grin appearing on his face.
Harry nodded furiously, hugging Remus tightly. “I wanna hewp!” He claimed, grinning cheerfully.
Remus groaned slightly, facepalming. “I feel outnumbered,” the male complained. “Harry will side with you, and—“
“So you agree to forfeit?” Sirius asked, hopping up next to him.
“What? No, of course not!” Remus protested. Looking down at the toddler in his lap, he began to bounce him.
“Hazza, isn’t this house much better?” Remus encouraged, showing a small cute cottage on the outskirts of a village to the young boy.
Sirius butted in, holding up the other picture that seemed to be in the shape of a large chess rook, and completely purple. “Isn’t this one prettier, Harry?” He asked, ruffling his hair.
To the men’s complete surprise, instead of siding with Sirius, the two watched as Harry immediately pointed at Remus’ choice. “House!” He squealed happily. “Iss pwetty.”
Sirius grinned good naturally. “Okay, okay. You win, Re.” He said, just before Remus pulled him into a kiss. Pulling away quickly, Sirius grinned sheepishly. “Honestly Mooney, I was arguing just for the sake of arguing. It’s a cute cottage.” He admitted.
Remus smirked. “I knew it!” He said quickly, high fiving Harry, who giggled amusedly at the couples playful banter.
“Shall I call the salesman, then, and tell him we’ll take it?” Remus asked Sirius, who nodded. “Sure.” He agreed easily, picking up Harry. “Unfourtunately for Prongs Junior here, it’s nap time!” He sang.
Harry began to squirm. “Paddywhackkkkk!” He whined, pouting as Sirius carried him into his bedroom.
A week later, they were all moved in.
Harry had adapted easily, and quite liked running around in the garden. He definitely found a lot more hiding spots, so finding him wouldn’t be as easy, but somehow Remus always could.
Sirius had found a job of selling products at a branch of Zonkos Pranking Store in the wizarding community in their area, and while he enjoyed it, he wasn’t able to be at home as much as before.
Remus, however, had found no job willing to hire a werewolf, and the muggles definitely didn’t want to hire someone who didn’t show up for a few days every month, a waste of money in their eyes.
Harry had taken pleasure in having Remus all to himself, as he snuggled into his Uncle Mooney. Falling asleep easily, Remus stayed awake for as long as he could. Sirius would be home soon, and he wanted to be awake for his boyfriend.
But when Sirius arrived finally, he found Harry and Remus cuddled together asleep, and rather than waking Remus, the dogfather merely joined them in their rest.
