Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 cup packed light brown sugar. 2 large eggs. 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1 cup chopped nuts optional.

Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts if using.
