An AU Appreciation Blog for Gravity Falls!

Every week, we post a submitted Gravity Falls AU to put in the spotlight! Followers of this blog (and the mods themselves, though we can't create something for every single week) will be encouraged to show their love and interest for the AU by fanart, analysis, fanfic, etc!

Best part is, even if you don't get something done within the designated week... THAT'S OKAY! There's no time limit and you have free will forever and ever.

AND, if you feel your AU still hasn't gotten the attention you deserve, we'll be reposting ones we've already posted, every now and then, with emphasis on the more underrated ones <3

Now we will have some base rules for this blog, so what are they?

The creator has the decision of what they want to receive, they can choose to say they don't want a certian type of fan gift or not want gore/blood, or ships mentioned in their gifts! We expect everyone to be respectful of the AU creator's boundaries during gift giving. <3

Don't kill us if we miss a week. we touch grass sometimes.

NO NSFW! The mods of this blog aren't suuuuper comfortable with that, plus we want to keep this a nice place for everyone <3

Also, no incest or adult/minor ships in your submitted AUs pleaaase. We should not have to say why.

OCs, self-inserts, and OC x Canon things in an AU are allowed! It just shouldn't be only inserting your OC or self-insert into an already canon timeline because that's not considered an AU. :)

If you make something for an AU you discover from here, tag the creator and TAG US AS WELL! we wanna see!

And of course, just have fun. Your AU can be silly or serious, we'll feature it all the same!

Migraines and Ford

I realize this is basically canon, but lemme take it back to the teen years and reallllyyyy stretch it. Like ofc he isn't as keen on the stan o war - it involves working in the sun and the sun for some reason is always a trigger. And god why can't Stanley be quiet, when he sneaks back in, doesn't he understand how irritating this is. And sure, everyone says it's because he reads too much and they're just headaches, but for fucks sake, even on days where sleeps and eats, it hurts and aches his jaw and one pulsating point on his forehead. Fiddleford better stop playing the banjo or he will break it and goddamnit, he doesn't eat because he's so goddamn nauseous and he's so angry because this pain is just so fucking stubborn.

And then we know in tbob that Bill does have control over Ford's mind - like causing pain using the nerves.

So imagine this :Ford lives a blissful couple of years with Bill without migraines. His muse has cured him, it's amazing and he can finally do the things he wants and adventure out in the sun for days on end.

The closest thing he gets to a migraine is the eye bleeds but that's not what a migraine is? His eye aches but compared to the anvil clanking against his skull it's bearable, especially when he's gaining so much time because of it.

And then, bang betrayal and think - you've gone two years pain free and it all comes back in full force constantly. You always forget how irritating a runny nose is until you have a cold. A migraine, with it's pulsing pains, throbbing in that small gap between skull and skin, the entire side that's affected feeling like it's melting - Bill can make every symptom worse

Like you saw what a pain free life was like - you experienced going out and spending long summer days doing research, and experiments that bring about almighty flashes and bangs.

Also, how are we to know you won’t treat the request the same way if it actually does get written? How are we to know you’re even going to say a single kind word? We don’t, because you’re behaving in an entitled way that shows you won’t. The amount of requests I’ve taken in good faith where the person who requested it never said a word about it is astounding. Not even a thank you.

i miss you, and the summers have returned.
